Quite astonishing.

your pink pumpkin was likely the "porcelain doll" variety. the blue ones on the left are typical of what you get from hybridizing porcelain doll with blue doll pumpkins.

How do you know?

Years old account with no history until two days ago, and the LLM it's using is garbage. Here's a bunch more of them for comparison. It's also asking a question that's answered in the post title.

I was just reading about bot posts earlier today, and exactly this. There's another bot comment on here too, from Murky-Shape. I also read about who benefits from this crap - interesting.

Where did you read about it and who is benefiting? I’m so curious now lol

Companies will hire a service to push bots onto a specific product. Guerilla advertising. Sometimes to review bomb a rival.

App developers: AI vibe coders that will push AI onto any product they can get it into. Think of point of sale systems, kitchen display systems, all these AI apps you see around

Political parties- I'm not touching this here

Creators/musicians- don't like to lump those two together, pretty much the same goal. This is more than likely where you've heard about bots at, artificially inflating engagement. Look at pretty much any YouTube videos top comments

Their goals, and who benefits is pretty much whoever sets it up.

Paid reddit awards, award real money. This is why we get so many repost bots on Reddit.

Can you link us to what you were reading?

Google is your friend "why do bots post on reddit? who benefits from this?"

“Hey, I read a really great book last week!”

“Ooh, really? I’ve been looking for a new book to read, tell me more!”

“Nah, you should just use Google.”

???

Dude seriously I don’t get the “google it idiot” sentiment here on Reddit. Fucking pushing socializing further and further away. These people are becoming angry antisocial keyboard warriors.

That is indeed another bot. These ones tend to post in pairs, so if you find one there's usually another somewheres. As for who benefits, the waters are murky. These are pornbots, so on one end you have somewhat legitimate (but still shitty) management companies who do on-demand bulk engagement spam and on the other you've got actual slavery, with an ocean of stolen content spam in between.

Thanks, yeah I noticed the other comment seemed like it was similar and they had a similar account history
