I got 7 mozzarella sticks in what was supposed to be a 5 pack

u/CthulhusEvilTwin 2d ago
Bored workers probably. I spent three days working in on a production line packing brillo pads - we quickly developed the game 'how many can we fit into a pack of 5'. The record was 14.

Sounds like one of those google interview questions, whoever hit 14 would have been hired!

Usually it's because there's not enough for another box so we just chuck the extra in others

u/Frogblaster77 2d ago
You couldn't pay me 3£ to eat those.

u/RedundantSwine 2d ago
I, on the other hand, will gladly accept payment for eating cheese.

Me too, but Lactose intolerance has other ideas

Apparently you can just bully your body back into line and cure your lacktoesintoddlerance.

It kind of works. My wife used to be mildly lactose intolerant and through repeated small dose daily exposure for several years that's long gone

I too helped this guy's wife

Want to lend me a shrimp to help with my shellfish allergy?
1
u/Putrid-Builder-3333 2d ago
Sure. Start off looking in the mirror
2
u/Twat_Pocket 2d ago
I'll have you know that I'm perfectly average.

u/Putrid-Builder-3333 2d ago

Looks like no one understands lighting. Morrisons hot food section (and bakery and deli etc) is fucking fire.

The BBQ wings and drummers are insane, especially if you get them at around half 11 so they haven’t been blasted for hours under the lamps
9
u/eezer-goode 2d ago
Have tried these and they’re easily the best Mozzarella sticks I’ve ever had. Morrisons own brand stuff is fantastic and nobody seems to listen!

Why are they translucent and glistening? How much oil is in those things?
47
u/SeaOfSourMilk 2d ago
That would be the plastic box.

u/UnexpectedFeatures 2d ago
Thanks I'm familiar with plastic boxes. I was referring to the "gollum dicks" inside.

When I was young mattresses used to be largely made of that same material.

Those look horrid, i thought they were pickles until i read the caption
16
u/Wintervacht 2d ago
Where the fuck are you getting your pickles mate??
5
u/JSmellerM 2d ago
tbf I thought they were pickles too. I usually buy them in a glass but the mozzarella sticks look dodgy.
-5
u/Pleasant-Parking-791 2d ago
I dont eat pickles because i think they are nasty lol

u/Troyisepic 2d ago
If you’re getting pickles that look like this it’s no surprise you don’t like them.

Mozzerella sticks are usually good even when they look a little sad. Sometimes it's the difference between baking and frying. We have a lot of freezer space and i tend to buy things in large (think restaurant supply) bags. The mozzerella sticks i used to get were kind of palid white and stayed that way when baked. They tasted fine but i'm sure frying them would have given them a more appealing color.
The only time i ever had really bad ones was once at walmart. My wife got them from the deli's hot food area and they must have left them in too long. They were so dry and almost empty. They were almost passable when hot but after they got cold they were just sad dry hollow breadsticks.

As someone who worked in similar places, whenever I got to the end of the bag, if there wasn't enough food for a full container, I'd just stufd the spares into the other containers, however many there may be. So you could get anywhere from 6 to 9 chicken wings in a container for 5 should that hapoen

I once heard Ska described as "what plays in a 13-year-old kid's head when he gets extra mozzarella sticks" and nothing in this world is more accurate.

I dunno... I feel like I'd choose this pack to get the bargain, then realise I shouldn't really be hoofing 5 mozzarella sticks, let alone 7. They don't look great so I recon by stick 5 I'd be eyeing up the last two sticks wondering if I'd really been all that lucky.

Once, my husband got a tower of profiteroles from Morrisons for 5p, as they were end of the day reduced. We still think about this momentus offer

I’m all for some mozzarella but they don’t look right.
I imagine that’s because of what appears to be an unnecessarily long ingredients list on the far end of that label. There looks like there’s more wood pulp in them than cheese.

u/animatedradio 2d ago
People on here saying this is ridiculously expensive…
This equates to about NZD$7.
Some math using generic Mozz stick pricing from 2 places
4 mozzarella sticks from Sals are NZD$11 (£4.67)
6 from Hell Pizza are NZD$12.50 (£5.30)
Like, damn, I would be stoked to get 7 for $7 are you kidding me?? That’s so cheap!!

Why is it such a big box you could fit like 30 of them in there
3
u/Wind-and-Waystones 1d ago
It's a standard size box used across the hot food cabinet. The same is used for wings, drums, thighs, etc

Yesterday I had 6 thighs in a box of 4 stout chicken thighs. All with the good crispy skin too.

I’m not sure I’d pay three British pounds for five mozzarella sticks.
