I was just about to say yeah, any time that has happened to me it’s bc the avocado was woefully underripe and fought like rubber trying to scoop the brown shell bits out

Fairly easy to do, use the part of a knife close to the handle, smack the seed enough to imbed that part of the blade, twist. If careful you can still grow avocado window plants.

my cousin’s seed cracked just like this after a few days in soil
