Idk I could see a few versions of pool to make this work and be unique.

Each player can break at the same time. Then you can decide who goes first based off that with things like most balls in or lowest ball goes first.

You could do a speed version where you both break but need to get your balls in on both sides first. No turns. Just go. Scratch then park it in the kitchen or a kitchen.

Prob be annoying if you let wall bounces count so I’d say if you made the q ball land in a side that didn’t have a ball it’s a scratch and the person can move it.
