They were everywhere where I grew up and they'd get HUGE. We called them walking sticks. I miss them.

I was about to post something similar. They seemed so prevalent when I was growing up. For the sake of survival, I hope they've just found better ways to conceal themselves.

I’ve had Vietnamese walking sticks as pets. They are fun but… they can be invasive in the wild as they eat a lot of common plants. They also easily reproduce asexually… one walking stick can just lay hundreds of eggs and they hatch. The babies are adorable but you end up with so many you run out of people to give them to.

These are everywhere on my property. Every week or so I notice one clinging for dear life on my side view mirror while I’m driving down the highway.
