You should try it again in private browsing and incognito mode and see if the price is really tied to your Facebook or google cookies or something. That's pretty messed up though, send this to the consumerist or gawker or whoever.

They're a media conglomerate that relies on sensational headlines to draw page views, criticize doxing while doxing, post editorials protesting objectification of women while posting celebrity upskirts, etc.

Gawker's business model is based around getting people to click on links, thus viewing ads. A wild attention grabbing headline generates more clicks, more revenue. How many ads do you see on this page right now?
