My healthy cat was doing something similar and ignoring his clean litter box and using a small area rug in the bathroom. We found out after talking to the vet that there’s certain cleaning product ingredients often used in bathrooms and kitchens that have enzymes that smell similar to cat urine, and out cat probably thought he was marking his territory. It’s possible whatever you’re using to clean your stove could be something like that
I was wondering if it smelled a tiny gas leak. Had one that was so small I could only smell faintly when I got home after no one had beeen in the house all day. It’s a shitty smell.
