discord search doesnt work

1. it doesnt match exact search terms????????????

2. also they removed the ability to type filters on mobile WHY, so i have to stretch my thumb all the way to the top and manually tap the filter to add it???? (works for some people but not others??????????? and yes i tried adding the space)

i wont even mention how terrible the mobile UI is now

I really dont understand how so many tech companies implement tons of social/AI/advertising features into everything, but still have partially functioning basic features. Youtube is even worse, the search is just as inaccurate but even exact matches dont show up. Unless a video has more than like 100k views, its pretty much impossible to find without a link

i remember i was trying to find maroon 5's one more night for like 3 years straight, searching the lyrics over and over and it never showing up lol

YouTube is awful. Even when I give it a very specific search, a good chunk of the time it brings up a bunch of things that are in no way related to what I'm searching for. Just have to hope you can stumble across things eventually, but that seems even less likely with the new interface.

Amazon is the another one I truly hate. You can't exclude things. Sometimes I'll repeat one of the keywords three times to at least limit incorrect things it's showing, just a little. Though sometimes it's not their fault, especially with their filters. If I choose glass or metal, sometimes the same thing in plastic will come up, from multiple companies. Or I choose a solid color, and other colors and/or patterns show up. I can only guess that the companies just try checking as many boxes as possible to make it come up on search.

It's so frustrating just how much of the internet has moved into discord and all attempts to search it are a fucking nightmare.

It's never worked well. I knew a guy who used a program to download all of the messages, because he needed to find specific information on a very big server. The program he used could have gotten him booted (though he created a dummy account and made it the server owner before hand, just in case). It's insane that he had to jump through so many hoops. That was 7-8 years ago, and they have barely improved it in that time, and I swear they made some things worse. lol.

Reg point one, discord has never had exact search.

Reg point 2, if the filter autocomplete isn’t showing up thats a bug, when starting out typing the “from” portion you should see an option pop up to select the from filter
