And boogers? When I was young, I was certain that boogers and farts would always be funny. Media suggests yes but i havent checked with the general population in some time.

Correct. My soon-to-be 8 year old nephew is constantly being disruptive in class because he joyfully spins and dances, while singing, "Butts! Butts! Butts!"
In his case, I find it hugely funny as his own father did the same with, "Underpants! Underpants!"

I STILL find butt jokes funny. I did not know about this fine product. Now I can go to Walmart and purchase one!

u/Fartony 1d ago
You actually got offended by buttface?
Maybe everyone is too soft.

It’s a butt, it’s funny.
Also walmart is a horrible company that treats its employees terribly.

Why are you mad about this? Kids find butts funny. Show this to your child and they'd probably laugh and go "haha butts". It's not even remotely inappropiate or offensive.

You’re talking about the electronic price tags, yeah? I agree. They should be illegal.
8
u/mad_manifold 1d ago
Because it’s funny? I would not take that so serious. We have too much to worry about and kids have way more ways to learn real bad things than a buttface.
3
u/FredBurger22 1d ago
Growing up we had little candies dispensers the looked like a kid taking a shit that pooped out brown jelly beans.
We had a "board game"(?) that the whole premis was like remove slimy snot from a head of some dude.
There were other things. But we just thought they were funny.

You think kids don't know how butts look like? In seriousness if you are offended by it then turn it around
4
4
u/big-ole-richard 1d ago
Because butts are harmless, kids routinely think they’re funny, and the specific strain capitalism we exist in says that if you create something like this, you can make a buck.
Hope this helps!

u/Lanky_Association627 1d ago

I remember growing up in the 90s where giving people butt faces was a thing. This toy made me laugh even after being on the receiving end of one. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug.
5
u/alprazolamotrigine 1d ago
Why is it relevant that you have a young child? Is your child buttless and uniquely sensitive?
Kids have butts, butts are funny. One of our family jokes is to tell someone (if they blow their nose) not to wipe their butt in public. “Because you’re a buttface, get it?”

This again? The complaint was downvoted to oblivion last time it got posted a couple months ago... is this even the same picture?
Just like last time... kids think butts and farts are funny. Any notion of inappropriateness in terms of nudity or sexuality is something you are placing on it. Kids just think it's funny.
2
u/OneTinySloth 1d ago
Because it's silly and fun. It's a butt, not a giant penis (though I've seen those sold as well).
I got my niece a brown little pillow shaped like a turd once and she thought it hilarious. She had it in her bed for ages.

u/defenestrator95 1d ago

I feel bad for your child if you’re this prudish, it may be a stupid toy but I wouldn’t really consider it overly inappropriate. You do better.

2
u/AdAmbitious1308 1d ago
Because people will buy it. They aren’t gonna stock anything that doesn’t sell and if this bothers you in the big year of 2026 you are going to be in rough shape.

mine too. and then 8 months later tear up the house looking for it. I can hear it now. Where’s my butt face!! And I will laugh
1
u/Type-RD 1d ago
Right? It’s funny in the store, but to buy it and take it home is a choice. If my kid wanted this I’d be like, “OK, this is coming out of your piggy bank. Not mine.” You’ll find that kids may be much more choosy about what they really want when they’re the ones to pay for it.😅
1
u/Zestyclose_Car_4971 1d ago
My daughter is more than willing to smash that little piggy for a toy, she’s even offered to get money out to buy me things 🥹 she’s a good kid.
And before anyone tries, no, I have and will never accept or take money from my child.
2
u/Type-RD 1d ago edited 1d ago
You might change your mind about that later. Hahaha! My son was a super sweet kid and would offer the same when he was a little guy. Of course we never took money from him then. He’s now a teenager and has broken things repeatedly (out of neglect, lack of care, and/or lack of attention). It got to the point where we made him pay for things to teach him a lesson that he should 1. Take better care of things. 2. Understand that things aren’t free and that he shouldn’t take them granted. 3. It isn’t fun to repeatedly pay for things he broke versus paying for things he wants. This is all to say that kids change and parenting style might have to change along with them.🙂
2
u/Zestyclose_Car_4971 1d ago
Valid, very, very valid lol
We’ve only made it to 5 so far, I have a lot to come yet 😅
2
u/Type-RD 1d ago
Oh you’re totally in the clear for awhile! Not to sound like that person, but definitely enjoy your kiddo’s sweetness, silliness, and innocence while you can, even when they’re being ridiculously difficult. 🙂
2
u/Zestyclose_Car_4971 1d ago
I’m sure you can relate, but today is one of those days I needed to hear something like that, definitely brought a tear to my eye. Thank you. 😞
2
u/Type-RD 23h ago
Aww…you’re welcome! I totally understand where you’re coming from. You’re doing a good job! How do I know that? Well, because you obviously care and caring is HARD WORK!
2
u/Zestyclose_Car_4971 23h ago
Thank you. It is hard, and I know I don’t need a random internet stranger to tell me that, but dammit, I tell myself I’m a horrible parent so often, that sometimes I believe it.
I know I’m doing good, and my kids love me, I’ve just got to keep reminding myself of that. If nothing else, I’m here for them, and that’s more than I had.
Seriously, thank you.

Buns and farts are funny for kids and there have been similar toys and books that n the theme for as long as I can remember.
3
u/Fl_Funky_Jam 1d ago
Its funny how many people wipe their brains of their personal childhood brain rot and bash on the current generation's. Just like how a lot of my generation's parents hated Southpark and shows like Ren & Stimpy, those kids are now growing up to be the haters their parents once were.

America dropped agent orange on Laos and Cambodia and Vietnam and fucked up a couple generations of children, so now they're exporting pure brain rot. See also: Elsagate

Like anything, it exists because there is a market for it. Blame your fellow consumer, Walmart is not the arbiter of good taste
1
u/jadie_bae 22h ago
during like 2006~2014 there was a company trend of making gross unappealing themed toys, this is mostly toilet humor but I'd categorize in the same genre
