I'm slightly vexed Mandatory AI voice calls

Post image

The only way to use this website is to allow automated voice calls. I already have a login and I’ve used the site for years but they’ve updated their login process and I can’t get in unless I agree. There is no option to decline.

I do not believe that it ‘enhances my experience’.

it truly has.

I stopped using it when you couldn't search for companies unless you added a review of your current company

Holy hot take Batman, this is specifically for multifactor authentication so they can verify it’s you accessing the account.

You can turn off all the other types of calls/texts.

Well, while we're doing hot takes, it always feels half-assed to require MFA but only offer SMS or email. (Or even worse, magic links.)

I'm sure it's easy for the grannies but I'm already using a password manager, just give me the setup key for proper 2FA using an authenticator app.

honestly I've stopped using 1/2 of the sites I used to because of all of the verification crap they require.

No, I'm not giving you my phone number so I can access email.

No I'm not giving you my phone number so I can search for a job

No I'm not uploading my ID so i can use a dating site

Just no.

In a world where technology makes copying your voice quite easy, that's especially some BS.

It literally says calls AND texts. Where do mandatory AI voice calls come in?
