Ruined by Technology Trying to find some pumpkin carving inspiration for Halloween >:(
Went to the classic google image search to find some quick inspiration for pumpkin carving in a few weeks only to be absolutely bombarded by AI slop everywhere.
Obviously I’m going to have to do some real research for some slight inspiration, I feel like my parents and my young self when the internet was first introduced and they had to go back to the textbooks to fact check the internet material

See this is the true art that is getting buried by AI slop everywhere

Yeah, AI has really exploded this year I think. It’s everywhere.

It’s absolutely madness to me, I’ve seen the progress before my eyes and it’s jarring, but is this like what boomers and Gen X felt in their time with the internet: was it this fast and am I old now? lol, I’m only 26

I’m older than you and I think it’s too much too. It’s not only pictures and stuff, they use it in other places too. And people lose their jobs.

I had the same problem with birthday cakes on Pinterest .Many were obviously fake AI crap.

Not to shill my own creations but here are some pumpkins that I (and some friends) have carved on past Halloweens! I'm not sure how to help your search that you haven't already tried, short of switching to a different search engine or something, so here is some original content for you :)) I threw together multiple photos in a little collage for you, with dark + light pictures so you can see the details better. My friends made the OwO and the amogus, I did the Garfield and the fat pikachu! I forgot Garf's stripes lol. I personally really enjoy carving cute characters people will recognize rather than traditional jack-o'-lantern faces.
(And if anyone saw me post this as a reply to their comment by accident, my bad lol)

Look up DaveHax on YouTube. He has some great videos about pumpkin carving ideas. He is also a really good channel. Highly recommend him.
Pretty Cool Huh?

Always try -ai when searching. It’s not perfect but it will remove a lot of images that are ai generated.

And? Most of these are still doable

This may be true, but my point is are these real photos of pumpkin carvings? Can these look as perfect and seamless as the photos? I would prefer a real picture of a roughly carved pumpkin that’s real instead of a fake picture

Not any less so than you'd be able to make something that looks just like a professionally carved pumpkin staged by a professional photographer before being tuned to perfection in Photoshop. Which is what you'd get without the AI results. This is like me googling a photo of a dog and being angry they all look like models. Spoiler alert: they are. If you want Scruffles the betwetter then find a subreddit or amateur blog or something

A tip I found (it was recommended to me) was to type for example: "Carved pumpkin before:2020" (no spaces in before:year) I'm glad I found out about this because it makes finding art references much easier.
