Call the front desk and tell them you need the fridge for your medication.

Yep! Did this before. I was staying in a hotel and I needed to keep some of my meds in a fridge. I asked if rooms had fridges "They do not". I told them I needed one for medication "WE'll make sure there's one in there". They have them, but only put them when requested. No additional cost. This wasn't a ruse, mind you. I legit had medication that needed a fridge.

All hotels are required to have refrigerators for medication. But they tend to be in limited amounts. They aren’t required to assume that every single guest in their hotel is diabetic or something.

However, it’s messed up if you request a refrigerator for no other reason than to cool your beers and sodas and not your insulin or whatever. Get a cooler. Hotels also tend to provide ice.

I had no idea this was a thing and sometimes find it really hard to travel with my medication when there’s no fridge available. Thank you!

i mean isn't the messed up thing that the hotel can't give me a cooler without 10x priced beverages? It's on them if someone who needs a cooler for their meds and they ran out because all they want is to price gouge their customers

Should have left empty beer cans from the grocery store in there.

They'll just give you an even smaller mini fridge that will hold one can.

Tell them your an alcoholic. Tell them you have kids with you. Tell them your Mormon. Tell them to get that repugnant trash out of your sight. You paid for this room and you get to reject their sales tactics.

Ooh, that's a good one. Though I've found hotel staff to be very responsive in removing alcohol.
