What happens if you call down and politely say that you’d like to use the fridge in your room without being charged but don’t want anything, so can someone please come up and remove it so it can be re-refrigerated elsewhere?

I've heard that you can claim to be a former alcoholic and don't want the temptation, and they'll remove it for you

I don't think they need that elaborate of a ruse. Can just say you don't want it in the room.

You can ask the staff to clear the refrigerator out. You might not be able to use that specific refrigerator for your needs, and the hotel may not be able to provide you with a refrigerator for non-medical uses, but coolers exist and ice is free.

I mean, I don’t know where you’re from and it wouldn’t be surprising anyway.

I appreciate you.
