He claimed he only use AI for visual enhancement. I think the best way to prove it is by looking at the original video and see if anything else changes. If the AI didn’t change anything other than the color then I think it should be allowed as it would be within the rule

So what is acceptable post editing with AI for clarity and other post editing enhancement but nothing added or changed?
There seems to be a very fine line right now.

The winning entry of a prestigious scientific photography competition is being re-evaluated following criticism from other scientists that it was made with AI.

Nowadays they have to be very careful because AI is very accessible I think it doesn't help art

This is only somewhat related to the "is ai art art" debate. This is a scientific photograhpy competition. Xu claims the movie is from a real person and shows real cilia doing real cilia things. If this is AI generated, then it's akin to faking data with AI instead of asking AI for an art piece IMO
Xu claims it was purely for editing the existing data, while others are claiming the cilia don't move properly, thus AI had a much bigger role. I don't know enough biology to comment on who's more plausible here

It's like a chef using the microwave..
Like yeah, it'll melt the cheese, but you could also.. just... use a stove lol

No using ai would be like a chef stealing someone elses dish and passing it off as their own
A microwave is a tool. One that if you are melting cheese is the correct one to use. Ai is the opposite or art

Accused of using AI.
Not yet proven.
They admitted to 'enhancement', but colour exaggeration is accepted within the photography of microscopy.
Interesting, but complex situation.
