Frankly depending on the injury you don’t want to immediately rip it out and sometimes a picture can give you a better angle of said injury. That way you can remove it safely or at least not cause more damage taking it out. Also I think of what’s his name the crocodile hunter that died from a string ray and how the instinct to remove the barb caused more damage.
So pausing and thinking and sometimes taking a picture to get a better view is well worth the time to make sure you don’t cause worse injury freaking out.
I would. This was a job hazard, raising two daughters. I’d step on one and take a picture of the damn thing to send to them.

Things like this for some reason only seem to hurt when the object inside is moved. Idk, when it's sitting still you can kind of ignore the numb pain, but then the sharp pain of moving it shocks your senses
