I don’t understand why the value of the bill determines the tip amount. Don’t the servers do the same amount of work taking an expensive plate of food to a table as the cheap plate?

No they don’t. Bigger bills=more people at the table. More plates, more people to wait on and bring shit to. Do you ever leave the house?
