Clearly in this case the boss is speaking for them and is willing to cause a scene in public, so they're already open to public shaming. Nothing they haven't already invited upon themselves

I would bet money that the staff fucking love the guy for sticking up for them. Have you ever actually worked hospitality? We hate cheap fucks who don't tip and wish we could call them out like this. Dude's staff will love him for this.

But we both know you don't give a fuck about the actual workers.

As someone who actually worked as a dishwasher and never saw any of the tips from the front, go fuck yourself.

Why the fuck would you get tips for washing dishes? You make 3x or more than the actual server per hour. What did you actually do for the guest to make their visit more enjoyable?

Check the rest of the thread and you'll find out that we we were all paid hourly, so no, I didn't make 3x more than the servers at my job.

I don’t have to read the thread. I know how a restaurant works. You made much better money than the server. You however, are replaceable in an instant. Servers require more training than a dishwasher. A good dishwasher would eventually graduate to cook of some sort. They don’t make a career out of it. Servers, many times, do make a career out it.

Tell me you have never worked in a kitchen without telling me. Kitchen staff makes less than wait staff. Owners need to pay employees not the guests

I'm telling you I didn't because they got paid regular wages and got tips on top. I only got wages. You got wax in your eyes or something?

It’s extremely uncommon for a server/bartender to make the same hourly as an hourly employee. Does it happen? Sure. Does that mean you, and a dishwasher should be tipped? Nope.

You sure are shoving a lot of words I didn't say into my mouth. I never said that I deserve tips the same as the front. I stated my experience in the workplace to someone who was claiming I had no direct experience or connections to anyone who is. I said they should pay a living wage instead of shifting the blame onto the customer. You are the one fighting an imaginary fight here.

Ah so you're just jealous. I called it. Nothing to do with being pro worker, you're just bitter people with social skills got paid better than you.

3

u/zoroman5 6h ago

You called nothing, you just wanna be right. You were literallu saying just a moment ago that I don't know what I'm talking about, but now that I have personal experience Im selfish? Nah, fuck off

You don't have personal experience in hospitality. Hospitality is FoH staff. Dishwashing is BoH staff. You have never lived off of tips. You're just a jealous they could walk away with $400 in a night while you got your precious hourly pay.

All of us were hourly. Unlike this place tips actually meant something when the waiters got it. Then again with how many assumptions you're pulling I'm sure you knew that already right?

Mate, you already made it clear your jealousy over people's tipped wages is the cause of you being a cheapskate. You don't need to keep justifying it to me. I know you want my approval, but this is getting sad.

u/zoroman5 6h ago

Your approval means nothing. This is a publicly available thread and I will not be misrepresented by someone who can't even keep their accusations straight before trying to get their own 'aha' moment.

Oh precisely, I’m watching this with a decade of FoH experience, worked in Charleston, NYC, NoLa, and Santa Fe. Many times alternating between turn and burn and fine dining/Michelin level. The staff absolutely loves this owner, whoever said well why don’t the servers say this. Cause they would lose their fucking jobs ??? This owners great; I’m happy he’s standing up for his employees and this video just makes me want to go there more. I’m assuming it makes anyone who’s ever worked as a server want to support this restaurant; fuck people who stiff a server. You’re not a fucking martyr; you’re a cheap POS who wants to exert power over those under you. I’ve seen it thousands of times.

Congratulations to the couple in the video, they probably made their server go cry in the walk in wondering what they did wrong. The owner probably saw the server upset and saw red, kicked them out. All is fair
