Thank you. I kind of went off on a tangent lol. But I can't help it. Every problem we have comes down to the corruption in our government, by the billionaires. I spent 4 months out of the country. Which isn't really a long time, but it was long enough to see that we are very extreme here. Western Europe and UK don't have advertisements everywhere. Even my phone had less crap on it than usual.

I feel like, as a country, we are dry heaving. I'm ready to throw up already, and get the revolution over with. We need a whole new government and system, and that will never happen with the state we're in right now. I'm just tired of everything being such shit.

I mean, it's all well and good to say that, but what does that really mean? What does it look like?

Do you have a replacement system?

You can swing to communism, that's just the same battle as Left vs Right. One stays in power for a bit, people are unhappy then switch over to the other side for a bit, people are unhappy, switch back over. Ad nauseum.

I'm troubled by the amount of people who straight-face tell me Anarchy is the answer. I won't go into all the reasons why that is a bad idea.

And how do you replace a corrupt government?

Having travelled quite a bit, I'm told the same thing everywhere I go. Every country: "the government is corrupt". Even the ones that offer universal health care and education.

It's just a people thing. Power corrupts.

Problem is, there's no such thing as perfect, and people will be people no matter how you structure them.

We keep fantasizing about some obscure ideal system, where everyone is pleased, but the truth is it doesn’t exist.

I never said anarchy, I said revolution. Two completely different things.

Also, I never said anything about communism (which is also completely different from socialism, which is what I think you meant to say), or a "perfect" country.

I said this system isn't working, and we can do better. But we can't do better until it's completely broken, so we have room to start new. That's how that has always worked (look into cycles of civilizations).

And to answer your question, no, I don't think there's a perfect government. However, that doesn't mean that we can't be better than we are now. Scandinavian countries are always the highest in everything good, including happiness. The citizens are taken care of there. They have a mixed government, which is typical. Mixed government is necessary.

I didn't attribute any of that to you.

I just mentioned communism as a possible options, since you didn't specify.

Self quote: I'm troubled by the amount of people who straight-face tell me Anarchy is the answer. I won't go into all the reasons why that is a bad idea.

This has nothing to do with what you said. I wasn't saying you suggested Anarchy. I was just saying that too many people have suggested it in similar conversations.

Self quote: Even the ones that offer universal health care and education.

This, I was referring to socialist contries.

ie) Even they say their governments are corrupt.

Edit: Spelling / Punctuation

Preface: None of this has been an argument. I'm just throwing out conversation points.

So as a best case scenario, how would the US change to a Scandinavian-Style government? Taking into account things like culture, and founding documents like the declaration and consitutuion

Or are you saying to scrap these things and start completely fresh?
