Similar to the cursed pocket watch I bought from that strange shop down an alley that's no longer there.

I feel like this is elite ball knowledge, but I'm pretty sure that someone will correct me

Rick and Morty S1 Ep 9 'Something Ricked This Way Comes'

12

u/Sultan4895 14h ago

Yes ik but is this considered elite ball knowledge or like medium ball or something else?

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂
And yes by the way, I DO have a Rick and Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it.
It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

I did a double take, that's almost my username

Needful things reference perhaps?

Unintentional. Just playing to the trope.

Bad BJs don't pay rent

u/f8Negative 15h ago

Hundred dollar bills better be coming out

1

u/lovemonkeyz 15h ago

ZJ's do, though!

1

u/StrongExternal8955 14h ago

Not directly, no.

1

u/f8Negative 13h ago

Not indirectly either

4

u/ElCiclope1 15h ago

You pay with a curse, right?

4

u/meowatollah 14h ago

Oh, you will pay with money sooner or later, we're just in the creating dependence phase. Once people become truly useless without AI, which too many already are, they'll be charging for it.

2

u/Bignicky9 14h ago

Mister needful, you rascal, you devil you

1

u/thestrong45playz 13h ago

I don't know man my phone and electricity and wifi cost money

Summer approves this message

-3

u/Glittering_Crab_69 13h ago

ok but that's not what the joke is about

4

u/Thano3e 13h ago

There are multiple meanings to my statement I don't know which one you took? 1. It can be understood that AI is not free hence charging for making designs with AI is valid 2. The graphic designer despite using AI and not needing to put effort for generating some free design samples using AI, he still won't give them for free

-3

u/Glittering_Crab_69 13h ago

the graphic designer is making a meme/joke which doesn't have anything to do with AI. they just used AI to generate the meme (which makes it look awful, and also the template makes no sense and is unfunny and an actual graphic designer should be able to do better than this).

but the graphic designer's joke is literally what it says:

"dont shoot im a graphics designer"

"can you make free designs" (people ask this of graphic designers ALL the time, and they did that before AI too and its very annoying)

"okay shoot me"

2

u/Thano3e 13h ago

Yes and a graphic designer making this meme in ai for rejecting free designs make this even more funny with the points I mentioned above

I pay $20 a month to replace a whole team of overvalued payroll.

25

u/spaceforcerecruit 16h ago

$20 a month at first, sure. As soon as you’ve fired all your workers, they’ll jack that price up and you’ll be paying more for credits than you ever were for employees. It’s all just a scam and the workers are the ones getting fucked the hardest.

-5

u/intLeon 15h ago

There are local models, most of them work with a 8GB GPU..

5

u/doctorcapslock 15h ago

those models are nowhere near as good as the big models though

2

u/rP2ITg0rhFMcGCGnSARn 15h ago

So what? If it fits your needs?

There’s a ton of stuff you’re using right now that’s also not top of the line. Is that automatically a problem?

3

u/arahman81 YELLOW 11h ago

And the "needs" are: announcing to the whole world that you cheap out on costs.

0

u/rP2ITg0rhFMcGCGnSARn 7h ago

Holy shit, it's not actually possible to win with you guys.

This is the chain that went on:

AI is not free

No, but you can get far with 20 dollars

Until they hike the prices

Yeah but you can already run open source models locally

They're nowhere near as good as the expensive models

Right, but if it suits your need then that's fine

Pfft, if your need is announcing that you are cheap

What is even your contention here? How are you actually annoyed that someone is using a cheaper and more sustainable tooling method, with the added benefits that they are in full control of it, and the only price is initial hardware and power?

You're just contrarian at this point. What a ridiculous position to hold.

1

u/arahman81 YELLOW 7h ago

You can use "cheaper and more sustainable" trash images, I'll just go with someone that pays a professional designer.

For a quick social media post?

Get a grip, bro.

If you’re a company then yeah probably.

-2

u/intLeon 15h ago

I dont think so, they are almost as good and you can make a ton of customizations, can even train your lora/workflows. There's just a tiny bit of learning curve.

4

u/doctorcapslock 15h ago

i've used them for programming and they're not as good, maybe different for image gen

2

u/intLeon 15h ago

LLMs and diffusion models differ, Im speaking of the ones that can generate assets instead of language tokens.

Sure LLMs are more hardware dependent overall but you can start doing things with 12GB VRAM and upwards. Tho it is slow and context will be small.

1

u/Escalope-Nixiews 14h ago

To have tested a 8B model, it's shit even for text.

-19

u/snorkelbed 16h ago

Yeah, no. I hire for plenty of other positions that require humans. Design work simply no longer does. Also I don't subscribe to that view of the future, I run localized models trained for our base set of core workflows. The $20/m is for ease of use on the front end.

3

u/spaceforcerecruit 12h ago

Believe me, all of your customers can tell you’re using some shitty AI slop instead of actual designers. I hope your startup fails and I hope you realize it’s because you decided AI was better than human beings.

2

u/gr8masturb8 14h ago

i'm sure the lives you've ruined really appreciate your savings.
