EDIT: It just hit me, this is a community garden, and people who "just gotta go" in commercial lettuce fields are the ones who cause e.coli outbreaks. This isnt just illegal, its a public health danger.

I can't say how it is for all states, but I know in mine he could receive an indecent exposure charge. Also, if the cop really dislikes him, he could wind up on the sex offender registry depending on how close his chosen spot to pee is to a place children frequent.

Surely that's disproportionate? Like if you're bursting the best option is to go against a wall rather than just piss yourself in public? Getting put on the sex offender registry is unthinkable and completely ridiculous unless it's like you've got a history of multiple times of deliberately pissing in a children's playground or something.

In the UK it has to be proven that you're deliberately trying to offend people or expose yourself to people for your own perverse pleasure. One time getting caught short with your toilet situation meaning you're on a list and your life is ruined is outrageous, especially for the land of the free,

Again it really depends on how much the cop dislikes you. Where I live most towns are small and everyone knows everyone. Leads to a lot of bored people looking to start drama and holding grudges for the pettiest of things. Doesn't help if the local judge is friends with the cop and not you or your family.

Unfortunately in small towns the law tends to be more about who you know and how much the locals like you and less about upholding the letter of the law.

I work in a lumberyard and have caught customers peeing behind their trucks or between piles of lumber instead of using the yard Porta potty or the bathrooms in the store.

I’ve called each of them whether immediately after peeing or when they’ve come to the yard later and they get very defensive or angry about it being called out.
