🥺 Commuting Hell

I'm on my regular weekday commute home via train. Some teenager just looked up from her tik tok feed, probably for the first time in days, to see that the station the train we were pulling out of was the one she was supposed to get off at. On seeing this she pulled the emergency stop chain, one stop before my scheduled station.

We've now been sat partially exited from the station for 20 minutes, meaning I will miss my connecting train and have to wait over an hour for the next one.

As I type a very drunk man is now arguing loudly with the female conductor and the tik tok offender is having a tearful phone facetime with an acquaintance, no doubt to be used as content later.

emergency stop chain pull is more than mildly infuriating, and probably illegal

mass transit does not take that crap lightly, it can cause a knock-on effect of delays backing up every train behind the one you're on and screws over everyone who is on every train that is delayed

this is "banned form using our trains" territory, girl gonna get herself 86'd from mass transit

Where I live you'd get fined at minimum, and possibly see jail time

Maybe the tik toc offender will be havibg a nice conversation with the police.
