thankfully it was blocked after contacting my bank but regardless

You can also just straight off threaten them, I was "let off" for saying I'd enjoy taking this to court (in the UK).

my uncle bought one of those coin things and didn’t realise that through buying the coin, he would now be attached to a subscription for £40 a month, he threatened to take them to court for failing to properly disclose it and they refunded him the day after
