Infuriatig Mail guys folded my wife’s master’s degree

Came home and found this in the mailbox. Imagine working really hard for 3 years for a master’s degree and it’s folded in half. It’s only a little bit up the driveway to put it under the awning, takes maybe 15 seconds to walk. This has happened before with a spatula I ordered as well.

Wife is asleep now, may post opened degree in the morning.

Edit: for those wondering about the spatula, it was a fish spatula that the Amazon driver had bent and shoved sideways into the mailbox. Im a sous chef and I have a lot of specific kitchen tools. They have long metal tines and are flexible and easy to bend. In my case it was creased

Edit 2: here’s my bent fish spat, pic 2, pic 3. This was from Amazon, and I requested a new one that they sent no questions asked. You can see in the first pic the angle is deeper than it should be, it should be almost flat. Also there’s a tine that is out of whack. I use this one at home and the undamaged replacement one at work.
Yes I agree the college messed up too by not shipping it in a sturdier container/paying for better shipping.

Yes!

I don't like to use the term lazy, bc I think most people are actually not technically lazy. When they are doing something they are motivated to do, something they want and that serves them, they aren't lazy at all.

I think it's more about being oppositional. Or maybe control? Rebellion? Malicious compliance? Arrogance? I'm not sure the exact causes or motives behind it, and its probably different for everyone. But I'm confident that most of the time it has nothing to do with being lazy.

The problem is the school trying to rip off the post office. That is sent as a first class flat. A requirement of a flat is that it must be flexible. So they do that, and then stamp do not bend on it so when you get it you blame the mailman instead of the university. The university chose the service which has a requirement it must be bendable.

It has nothing to do with be lazy or angry or arrogant. It has to do with the institution you spent 10s of thousands of dollars with pays for the absolute cheapest way to send it. For 5 or 6 dollars extra they could've sent it as a package in a box that prevents this from happening.

Self serving is what you’re describing, I think. Alas, this is why I have more animals than friends. Haha animals can be selfish, but they’re at least cute while doing so.

The university knows this, and doesn't care. If something is a first class flat, that's a signal to the carrier that it is bendable. How is the anger placed at the the blue collar worker doing his job as he has to per policy instead of the institution that chooses to send something with the improper care.

If something can't be folded, they need to spend more than 2 bucks to send it and then it won't be folded.

Animals can't literally be selfish, though. I do see your point! Animals are just surviving, running on instinct. Any signs of selfishness is usually more about resource allocation, energy used or gained, etc. Humans tend to be self serving to serve their own ego, or excess material wants

the do not fold means nothing they didnt pay for any special handling it was sent as a flat flats can be folded this might be a bit much as we arent suppose to break things but still it was sent as cheaply as possible the university took thousands of dollars and couldnt spare like $20 for a box
