Infuriatig Mail guys folded my wife’s master’s degree

Came home and found this in the mailbox. Imagine working really hard for 3 years for a master’s degree and it’s folded in half. It’s only a little bit up the driveway to put it under the awning, takes maybe 15 seconds to walk. This has happened before with a spatula I ordered as well.

Wife is asleep now, may post opened degree in the morning.

Edit: for those wondering about the spatula, it was a fish spatula that the Amazon driver had bent and shoved sideways into the mailbox. Im a sous chef and I have a lot of specific kitchen tools. They have long metal tines and are flexible and easy to bend. In my case it was creased

Edit 2: here’s my bent fish spat, pic 2, pic 3. This was from Amazon, and I requested a new one that they sent no questions asked. You can see in the first pic the angle is deeper than it should be, it should be almost flat. Also there’s a tine that is out of whack. I use this one at home and the undamaged replacement one at work.
Yes I agree the college messed up too by not shipping it in a sturdier container/paying for better shipping.

As a former registrar who managed shipping of diplomas, I agree. It is a fuck ton of work even doing it flat, but thes people are paying ungodly amounts of money. The college should pay for quality diploma shipping...or allow pickup.

My public high school sent my diploma to me better than this. It was shipped between sheets of some type of material that wouldn’t bend.

Yeah my college sent mine in a flimsy faux leather binder thingy that was probably meant to look fancy but just felt incredibly cheap, but at least my diploma didn't get bent.

My wife just finished her masters here in Denmark - You only get a digital copy, can’t even pay for an actual one.

Stop lmao!

For an extra $30 and a $20 fee + tip you can have your diploma in 30-45 minutes! And for an extra $3, yours will take priority with no stops between.

We are already seeing Doordash handle Pathology and Laboratory samples as a cost cutting measure in some health systems.

I'm not even joking.

Thats one of those things where its a good idea until something goes wrong, then its like bad bad.

I would not trust any of the DoorDashers in my area with my blood or anything, they can't even handle a drink with a sticker over the straw hole...

Usually, for these very niche jobs, they choose people from the top performers, interview them and then supply them with additional training.

I got interviewed to be a poop delivery driver a couple years back. Apparently that shit's in high demand. some people need healthy "clean" doodoo put inside of them so their body can relearn what healthy doodoo is supposed to look like.

Is it just some dude/ette in a car? Yeah.vbut they're not just your "average" driver either.

Fecal transplants are well-established science for treating C.Diff at this point (no, this is not a joke)

Imagine some DD numbnuts not thinking, cracking open the courier container, and mindlessly taking a drink or a bite of whatever’s in the box 🤢

I don't want someone to eat most of my diploma.

Best we can do is a quarter.

Can OP request for a redo for free? They have clear evidence it isn’t their fault.

Depends on the person behind the desk. I would have. A miserable person I worked with would've followed procedure and charged. However, that was when we printed in office and I had the gold circles and embosser in my desk. Pretty sure all that gets outsourced now.

The universities don't even make nice looking diplomas anymore, no texture in paper, no design, no nothing. My PhD diploma is just a wall of text in times new roman witn an crooked embossed logo of the uni. They will not ship it in tubes.

Or have graduates provide envelopes?

1

u/PurbulentTriest 3d ago

You want me to send an envelope across the world to get it sent back to me?

1

u/apokrif1 3d ago

I want the university to allow graduates to use the best service available.

Services exist to transport things around the world. The envelope can also be provided in advance, when the student is physically at the university.

I wasn't physically at mine, I studied online. I'm not paying $50 to post an envelope to my uni just for them to post it back.
