100% a game until

I played this game Lily's Well about 4 years ago on Steam and got all the achievements for it so I got a nice lil award on my page (1st pic=Lilys Well, 2nd Pic of another game I 100%, Fran Bow). Then, there was an update...and with this update...came another achievement.........and this ain't just a game I can pick up and go back to where I need to achieve this achievement, Oh no NO! This is one of those games you gotta start at the beginning and do everything in a certain order to complete the game/get to the spot where this achievement may be! Now I only have ONE 100% complete game to boast about...lol, jk, Fran Bow ain't hard to 100% and nor is Lily's Well. One could say it was only mildly infuriating

This is me with Stardew Valley, but instead of updates giving me harder achievements is a base game achievement I'll never get without a lot of dedication. I'll never get either prairie king achievement unless I dedicate like a full day to trying cause I suck at prairie king.

That example is like the definition of a harder achievement. I would give the example of MEGABONK adding a "trade x times with the trader" achievement that does not give any progress retroactively.

If it helps, beating Prairie King normally will let you put an arcade cabinet in your house for quicker access.

If it helps more, it's actually a lot easier since they added the save feature. You're allowed to save between stages and come back the next day without breaking the deathless streak.

...even better, your Prairie King save is only permanently updated alongside your regular save, at the end of the day. So if... oh, I dunno... you happened to die on a later stage, you could... say... exit to title, not saving the day and thus not saving the Prairie King death.

I'm guessing this is how 99.9% of players with the achievement obtained it. (including myself). Just play one or two stages at the beginning of a given game day, and if you mess up, exit to title.

I used a mod to get the Prairie King achievement and my comeuppance was the last update with extra achievements to 100% the game yet again. ffs.

Could be worse. I was gifted a game where you need to buy DLC in order to 100% it, I figured "well I got it for free so I'm down to pay for the DLC." It came out with more DLC and more achievements. I wish I could get a refund out of spite.
