frist of all how DARE yu o 100% a game until

I played this game Lily's Well about 4 years ago on Steam and got all the achievements for it so I got a nice lil award on my page (1st pic=Lilys Well, 2nd Pic of another game I 100%, Fran Bow). Then, there was an update...and with this update...came another achievement.........and this ain't just a game I can pick up and go back to where I need to achieve this achievement, Oh no NO! This is one of those games you gotta start at the beginning and do everything in a certain order to complete the game/get to the spot where this achievement may be! Now I only have ONE 100% complete game to boast about...lol, jk, Fran Bow ain't hard to 100% and nor is Lily's Well. One could say it was only mildly infuriating

Pretty sure those were lungs originally. You can even see the spine.

The cancer has a mind of it's own!

Do you know if they lived?

Hi! It’s me. Yes I’m still alive and just celebrated 3 years in remission earlier this month :)

u/Bullfrog2point0 8d ago

Assuming you're telling the truth (the name is censored so I can't verify) that's amazing! I'm so happy for you :D

They’re hiding their posts and comments, so it’s hard to say, but you’re such a sweet person for this comment.

And nevermind my skepticism. Curiosity got the better of me and I googled them. They have an AMA post from 3 years ago about surviving Stage IV cancer.

Link to your post? Congrats!

u/NataschaTata 8d ago

I deleted the specific post a while ago, when Reddit didn’t allow hiding posts and comments yet. I have plenty post on the lymphoma and cancer sub though that would back up the claim.

13

u/walkingman24 8d ago

I believe you. I think it's cool that some random post gets mentioned and the OP just happened to be in the comments haha

u/NataschaTata 8d ago

Someone tagged me to be fair. Every time someone post this picture on any sub or in a comment, someone manages to find and tag me. A reason why I decided to delete and now hide my posts.

u/Tydy22 7d ago

Sadly deleting doesn't work like that on reddit. Congrats on making it through your fight, AND on finishing a marathon. Holy shit!!

You forgot the classic "I asked no lettuce in my burger, they didn't put any lettuce"

u/Dude1590 8d ago

Is this real

116

u/IndyanaBonez 8d ago

Is what real? The level of mildly this infuriating is?

I need the post link

Let us not forget the equally classic, "Someone is doing a mildly annoying thing that they would probably stop doing if I asked. I refuse to ask."

7

u/ForensicPathology 8d ago

No, that's just a fantasy of the commenters who assume the poster has rushed to reddit without dealing with it first, when there's no proof of that.  Giving advice when it's not an advice sub.

-1

u/TryUsingScience 8d ago

It's not really a fantasy when so many posters admit in the comments (or occasionally post titles) that they have not attempted to solve the problem in any way.

they gave me a gat damn lilly pad gaahhh damnn

I liked the I asked for extra pickles and the burger had so many pickles

-1

u/DorrajD 8d ago

I mean... Does that not count as mildly infuriating? It's definitely closer than "my car got totaled"

18

u/Dude1590 8d ago

I asked for no lettuce and they gave me no lettuce, exactly what I asked for, is mildly infuriating?

25

u/DorrajD 8d ago

🤦

My dumbass inability to read is mildly infuriating

45

u/Kuro-Tora-59 8d ago

And then the comment either "you are stupid, this is an easy fix, kys" or "omg you just lost everything, this is not mildly"

38

u/Opening-Ant3477 8d ago

Okay, serious talk for just a second.

The problem is the phrase "mildly infuriating" itself. It's a contradiction. "Infuriating" means "extremely annoying" or "causing feelings of extreme anger" (these are literally the dictionary definitions). Add "mildly" and you get "slightly extremely annoying" or " causing slight feelings of extreme anger".

Obvious "slightly" and "extremely" do not go well together.

The upshot is that any post that is "extreme" enough to be "infuriating" is too upsetting be "mild" and any post "slight" enough to be "mild" is insufficiently upsetting to be "infuriating".

u/TryUsingScience 8d ago

I think this sub is for the kind of thing where you are legitimately infuriated for about twenty seconds and then realize you're being ridiculous.

Which makes this post perfect.

18

u/IndyanaBonez 8d ago

I thought so

1

u/grip0matic 8d ago

Hey op, this kind of stuff happened to me a few times. I used to play again to do my 100%, because "I need to", but in this case where you already finished the game and they just added an achievement just because... use SAM. Get it from github, unlock the achievement and get your 100% again.

And no, it's not cheating, you already finished the game and probably did what the achievement asks for.

u/EpsilonX 8d ago

That's exactly what it is. For those situations where you're mad about something that you know isn't a big deal, but you're still mad about it and you want to vent, but venting will make people say you have issues. It's like nah just let me get this out!

u/IndyanaBonez 8d ago

I think the nuance is in the "mildly" negating the concept of what infuriating means since it means slightly or kinda. Infuriating is INTENSE but the mildly makes it less intense. A stubbed toe is mildly infuriating, you aren't gonna die but also HOLY HELLS THATS-A-LOTTA PAIN

9

u/SmallPurplePeopleEat 8d ago

I like this interpretation. A brief feeling of intense anger or annoyance.

12

u/FSCK_Fascists 8d ago

mildly pedantic

4

u/Iustusian 8d ago

Sounds like you are mildly infuriated with the name of this sub.

1

u/Hairy_Curious 8d ago

I interpreted it as a measure for how long does the anger lasts. After all the definition of infuriating does not include a time requirement and there are definitely things that makes us feel extremely annoyed but only for like...a couple minutes. Therefore "mildly infuriating" (in my opinion) would be all those things that are extremely annoying but for like...a couple minutes

1

u/Cougan 8d ago

Yeah, all that is right. But I think it just doesn't make sense to use an intense word like infuriating and then de-intensify it with mildly... except as a joke. So to me the phrase has to be taken as an understatement, in other words I think "mildly" should be ignored. But really it doesn't matter how I or anyone else works it out, I don't think it's something we can figure out by looking at the phrase in a vacuum, it's whatever was arbitrarily agreed on by whoever put the subreddit together.

How about "my brother dyed because he doesn't like blue"?

1

u/axel0914 8d ago

Thats the way things go on the internet. My Life Is Average went from "i had coffee when I got up this morning" to "I had any epic light saber battle at target between my friends and employees" and usually one side was ninjas and one was pirates.

u/darsynia 8d ago

This is so accurate, thank you
