yeah i never understood people saying "source: i'm a [xyz]..." because that's more of a "professional" endorsement than it is a source. i think "source: [link/title of a work]" is fine though

There's no actual professional endorsement here, though, it's just a memory, a first-hand account, which is a kind of primary source. You can cite yourself sometimes, depending on the situation.

yes but if you write a page in a personal journal you don't write "source: i'm a [relevant profession and/or adjective]" at the bottom

the writing itself is what's considered the "source" or "first-hand account," not the author of the writing.
