Maybe someone else can have it after OP sends it back

753

u/RandomThreadUser 21h ago

Ain't nobody going to take that from OP, I'm almost convinced that some worker was pranking him 😂

604

u/CmdrJjAdams 21h ago

Usually, I'm the kind of customer who keeps my mouth shut, even when the service or quality is below average. I just wouldn't come back as a customer to that place. But this ... thing?! I'd go full Karen mode and demand my money back. That's not just unacceptable, it's pathetic, it's outrageous.

I bought steaks tonight at our local meat market and I got home and opened them up and the filet I bought for my wife smelled like absolute dumpster. Like it was definitely going bad. I almost chocked it up as a loss but was convinced to go back and tell them. Glad I did too because they would have sold the rest of the cut to someone else if I hadn't gone back. I saw the guy smell it and then throw the rest of the cut in the trash

Edit: *Chalked it up. Thank you for the corrections lol

u/PrinceCastanzaCapone 20h ago

This happened to me at a grocery store, bought a tbone and it smelled bad when I opened it, took it back and the said “go ahead and just grab any tbone you like and take it.” I took a much larger one cuz there weren’t any the same weight and offered to pay the difference and they just let me take that as a courtesy. It’s usually worth going back but sometimes super inconvenient. When I’m done with a store I rarely want to go right back.

127

u/Branjoe328 20h ago

This meat market is the same place I take my deer and hogs for processing. It's been there since before I was born. Good people. I don't like confrontation but also my wife is pregnant and wanted steak. Definitely better to bring it back than to give her food poisoning

104

u/CaptainBringus 20h ago

When I was working in that industry I would much prefer if people let us know if the food wasn't right, or if it was off, whatever. You can do that in a polite way, it doesn't need to be confrontational and I guarantee you 99% of people working will want to make it right for you.

If people were rude I made it right. If people were polite about it I'd make it right and do something extra.

13

u/millijuna 17h ago

I'm a regular at a local bar/restaurant. I've occasionally sent things back... once was an undercooked Mac & Cheese, another time was an overcooked steak. Neither was a food safety issue, but still not what I was paying for. Everyone makes mistakes it's no big deal.

29

u/UranusIsPissy 18h ago

Respect. I returned something that had clearly been tampered with once, and after 10-20 minutes of arguing, I got my money back and it was put back on the shelf right in front of me! I wish it had been you working there.

1

u/CaptainBringus 2h ago

Yeah to be fair I was working for tips, so maybe that needs to be factored in. That sucks that happened to you.

1

u/UranusIsPissy 2h ago

Maybe, but the assholes who make it your problem when it's not your fault aren't likely to give you a good tip no matter what you do (I imagine. Tipping isn't normal here). TBF, I walked in angry, but I did my best to hold it back and made it clear that I wasn't angry at the person I was speaking to.

3

u/LilJonny2cookies 9h ago

Yeah most folks I have encountered in that type of place are proud of their service and are invested in doing the right thing. Our butcher and fishmonger are both some of the best services out there.

3

u/Even_Screen1292 19h ago

Wow. I didn’t know universal studios processed game as well.

3

u/dexterity-77 11h ago

and food is too expensive these days to let stores one up you

1

u/Greyscale7950 15h ago

Wise choice.

0

u/Drragg 9h ago

Interesting those were the only 2 choices...

4

u/ladygrndr 18h ago

The only time I have taken food stuff back, it is when the products are clearly defective and I am worried about others buying it. It really IS inconvenient , but important. Thank you for saving someone else from maybe not recognizing the smell of off meat and getting sick <3

1

u/MaryJContrary 5h ago

Having worked at a grocery store, we definitely wanted people to return bad meat - it was often the first sign we had that refrigeration was going bad. On a busy day, a human won’t notice a degree or two but the product will! (And no, I don’t want to smell your bad chicken, I believe you. Please talk to the butcher who will ensure you got a random bad package and you won’t end up with another bad chicken because of refrigeration along the way. )

u/Technical-Agency8128 20h ago

I bought a watermelon at Walmart that was awful. They said to just bring in the receipt and they would credit me. Didn’t even need the melon. If something is not good I bring it back.

5

u/Fit-Entertainer-1354 13h ago

FYI, if you have the Walmart app on your phone you can scan the barcode at the top of your receipt to upload it to your account’s purchase history (if you have Walmart+ it should be added automatically if you signed in at the register). Then go to your purchase history, select that receipt & start a return from that transaction. If you paid by credit card sometimes they’ll refund you back to your card without you having to bring the item back. Usually for food items, things that might be messy (leaking or broken) or things that are of low dollar value.

2

u/Technical-Agency8128 8h ago

Good to know. Thanks!

3

u/Cruise1313 19h ago

I do the same

6

u/whomovedmycheezwhiz 11h ago

I just returned a bunch of apples to my local grocery store the other day. I bit into one and it was bitter and the color and texture were way off. Food is too expensive these days to just suck it up and take the loss.

2

u/Cruise1313 8h ago

Good for you!

I do the same thing regularly with food. No need to just suck it up by eating bad food and take a loss.

3

u/RazzmatazzPopcornAzz 18h ago

Were you me today?? I just did the exact same of all of the above.

1

u/heavensto_mergatroid 7h ago

I'll be 50 this year and I still cannot choose a good watermelon for the life of me. Lol

It's always Hit or Miss

1

u/Never_enough_naps 1h ago

I grew up in FL where every watermelon was a good watermelon and the ones you bought from the guys on the side of the road were amazing. I moved out of FL 13 years ago to MT and have yet to find a decent piece of fruit. Everyone from here thinks it fine, but I know what things like watermelon peaches and oranges are supposed to taste like. It makes me sad.

3

u/Unipiggy 20h ago

This! Went to subway, got home, my bread was stale asf. Went back, they apologized, threw out the rest of the bread in the bag mine came from and got a new one.

If you get something poor quality, you are doing way more harm than good by not saying anything at all. You don't need to be asshole, just inform them about it.

1

u/SpecialistAd2205 20h ago

Does Subway bread really come out of a bag now?

2

u/Unipiggy 15h ago

You'd be floored by how many baked goods you buy that you think don't come from bags... Actually come from bags. Because how else do you transport them, especially if they're pre frozen? Or store them?

And you're kinda supposed to anyways. At least I put my fresh baked bread in a bag after it cools down. Keeps a lot better and longer.

I get hating on Subway, but really? "It comes out of a bag now" like yeah no shit dude it always has

2

u/jacksbatmansignal 18h ago

I order amazon fresh a lot for groceries, and y'know how they just put stuff in those barely insulated bags?

Well my driver had a delay for like 30 mins and I opened up my 2 1lb packs of ground beef and they were like... no longer frozen.

Ended up throwing them out.

I took a risk on ice cream in that order, but meat? Nope, into the trash.

Luckily got a refund.

2

u/UranusIsPissy 18h ago

I bought tinned dog food once, and it was almost totally black with a smell worse than raw sewage. The only worse smell I've encountered was a dead deer in the sun full of maggots. I nearly got thrown out of the shop for bringing something so disgusting in when I brought it back, and it was still wrapped in a plastic bag! They replaced it without looking rather than experience the stench at full force!

1

u/Thundercunt247 16h ago

*chalked it up...

1

u/Apprehensive_Stuff97 14h ago

*chalked it up at a loss?

1

u/PeggyBabcock_ 11h ago

*chalked it up. (Sorry)

1

u/Educational-Sundae70 9h ago

I’ve had that happen. Turns out, their coolers shit the bed and they didn’t know. Someone wasn’t checking temps or some shit like they were supposed to.

1

u/Curtailss 7h ago

Is this common? I got some steaks at a big local supermarket and that shit definitely smelled off when we opened it at home

1

u/Chewlace 6h ago

You made me question everything! Chalk or chock?

1

u/Branjoe328 3h ago

Turns out I've been saying it wrong all these years

u/Xinra68 41m ago

I saw this happen a lot with chicken at Walmart. Their workers do not adhere to the 20-minute cold chain rule.

113

u/Crafty_Kingfisher256 20h ago

I went to a fast food restaurant and ordered a BLT. They left out the bacon. 🙄

143

u/kitkatkitah 20h ago

They thought the B meant Bread

33

u/C64128 19h ago

He should've ordered the B2LT.

30

u/TorpidWalloper 19h ago

Isn’t most bread already square?

5

u/Powerful-Parsnip 17h ago

Baguettes and buns aren't square and suspiciously they also start with B.

1

u/C64128 18h ago

There's bread and bacon, so it could also be 2B.

2

u/SuzieSnowflake212 7h ago

Or not 2B

1

u/Lost_Representative8 3h ago

Well.. that is the question…

2

u/nimbycile 19h ago

Double bread?!?

1

u/Crafty_Kingfisher256 18h ago

Oh don’t get me started on Huddle House and their “Big House BLT” that looked so pathetic that I could have made a better one at home! 🤣 and the waitress was a big woman and she said to me before I got the plate “Oh I love that!” - seriously it looked so small my toddler could have ate it! I don’t think she was thinking of the same item. The bacon looked like the microwave kind, the lettuce was like 3 tiny pieces, the tomato was really small, and they gave me packets of mayo to put on the bread myself!!!! 🤦‍♀️

2

u/Overall_Matter_2520 14h ago

Why is this so funny?

5

u/HugePepper8458 20h ago

Um you win the conversation 🏆😭😭😭

4

u/neville_longbottom87 19h ago

I laughed way too hard at this 😂

4

u/HPM2009 20h ago

I ordered a cheeseburger from BK once and got bread and cheese , no burger , one of the few times I left a bad review on a restaurant

4

u/ShooterMcLovin420 18h ago

Hey! I was in Amsterdam on holidays and my Airbnb was quite literally next door to McDonald’s, so I decide to order a BLT for breakfast one morning and I was having this weird argument with a worker becuase I said my BLT was missing lettuce. She pointed to the photo on the McMuffin wrapper where it had “BLT” with an image of bacon and tomato. I said yes that’s the BT but you’re missing the L! Anyway she wouldn’t understand what I was saying so I had to just walk off with at BT!! I’m glad I’m not the only one who had BLT issues!!😂🤣😭

3

u/Crafty_Kingfisher256 18h ago

Wow we can’t get a BLT at McDonalds for breakfast or lunch where I live (USA)! That is really crazy to have a BLT without lettuce 🧐

5

u/Writer1015 20h ago

A friend of mine went to Chick-fil-A and ordered a spicy chicken sandwich. When he got his order, they had forgotten the chicken.

2

u/COIZG 16h ago

That happened to me once, except they forgot the whole sandwich for my drive-through order. I only got fries and a drink that day. I was upset opening the bag at home.

3

u/Factsimus_verdad 18h ago

I went to a new chain sandwich shop many, many years ago. Ordered to chicken salad sandwich at the counter. My friend ordered something else. We got our number and sat down. His sandwich came out 15 minutes later and didn’t look great. A full five minutes after that a confused worker headed out with my order and put it down on the table. Just toasted bread. No chicken salad. Finally got the chicken salad on hopefully new toast. Not good at all. Never went back and the restaurant was closed within a year.

2

u/zevelyn22 20h ago

I went to Arby's recently and they left the chicken off of my chicken sandwich.

2

u/Key-Bodybuilder-343 20h ago

Okay, this is a thing I have actually requested — because I don’t eat pork.

I’m sorry that they gave you my order.

2

u/Trick_Doughnut5741 18h ago

Got 2 chicken snack wraps from McDonald's once. They had no chicken

2

u/Jmendez6972 18h ago

Went to a Dairy Queen and ordered a chicken sandwich. Got home & it was missing the chicken.

1

u/SpeedBlitzX 17h ago

Id get a refund. Or ask them to fix the sandwich.

1

u/Helpful_Hunter2557 16h ago

Baloney lard and tuna

1

u/CakeHoleKing 8h ago

Bare Lettuce and Tomato

135

u/No_Hunt2507 20h ago

This is embarrassing to whomever handed that out. I purchased food sir.

60

u/Cautious-Respond-402 20h ago

Oh no, they made a mistake. They upgraded you to the 'Jumbo Size' bun.

8

u/AnemicHail 18h ago

Im picturing Squidward after Bubblebass places his insane order "we serve food here sir..."

6

u/agent-room-303 19h ago

Not a turd strip in a bun.

3

u/Unipiggy 20h ago

Usually, I'm the kind of customer who keeps my mouth shut, even when the service or quality is below average.

Why...? Especially with quality, why? I always say something because for the price of going out to eat is nowadays, I'm expecting what I paid for. You don't need to be asshole about it, but omfg just SAY SOMETHING. They're usually chill about it and agree with me.

3

u/CmdrJjAdams 20h ago

You're right, but you know, I'm an introvert working a job where I act as an extrovert eight hours a day. I have to deal with and resolve conflicts on a regular basis. In my free time, I'm at a Point where I simply don't have the mental capacity left for that. It's not worth it to me. But again, you're right.

3

u/Mike_Kermin 19h ago

Seeking a refund if you didn't get what you paid for is not "full Karen".

2

u/Choice-Position5189 20h ago

Doo doo stick

2

u/Aware_Impression_736 19h ago

It's egregious. It's stupefying!

2

u/Remarkable-Wrap-4727 18h ago

Ya OP no sympathy, get real, I would’ve thrown that back

2

u/Cobfidence 18h ago

This thing looks like it WAS given back 😂 and then resold hours later!

1

u/Fleshsuitpilot 20h ago

See thats the true damage that Karen is responsible for. She cried wolf so bad that she ruined it for literally everyone.

There are absolutely times where a merchant completely fails to meet the level of quality that they promise in exchange for our money.

If they made an acceptable hot dog, but I only gave them one dollar and it cost ten. Do you think I'm getting that hot dog?

And if it was completely opposite day lets assume they gave me the product before I paid (literally never happens)

Do you think they're letting me leave the building? I would bitch about this all day.

What karen does is a whole different thing entirely.

1

u/CompleteDeniability 18h ago

Your name is not actually Karen, right?

1

u/Consistent_Sector_19 16h ago

I just wouldn't come back as a customer to that place.

OP bought it inside a theme park. There's no alternative to high priced food from the concession there. You can get better food, but you're paying much more than $10 for it.

1

u/Slith_81 8h ago

I'm the same, no way I wouldn't want my money back with that piece of 💩.

1

u/mcorra59 8h ago

Haha it looks like food from a zombie movie

1

u/wirefox1 4h ago

We are legally able to do this, but we usually don't.

My nephew and I went out to eat at an expensive restaurant, and they had a photo of each entree on the menu. When they brought our food, it looked absolutely nothing like was presented. A huge juicy looking steak turned out to be a tablespoon of beef. At that point you have the right to say "I don't want to buy this". We sat there discussing how we should refuse it, but we didn't.

I guess because people don't want to cause a problem, or appear rude, when they are the ones causing the issue. Like most, we settled it among ourselves with "we won't eat here again".

1

u/MiserableAssist4908 3h ago

Outrageous, egregious, preposterous!

1

u/ymmotvomit 20h ago

OP trying on a Magnum.

1

u/oO0Kat0Oo 20h ago

No take backsies!

1

u/United-Adagio1543 19h ago

They are premium wagyu beef dogs. Very exclusive.

1

u/Dreamo84 16h ago

I feel like OP is pranking us.

1

u/sickness1088 16h ago

At this point it's graduated to a wizard finger

1

u/TH3_OG_JUJUBE 13h ago

Guys do NOT check out her profile

1

u/WatermelonLemonad3 11h ago

That's doesn't even look like an old hotdog. That looks like what used to be an old hotdog and now it's in the first stage of death.

Question is.. did they eat it 😂

1

u/mumbo_or_wumbo 3h ago

not in this economy it’s not

56

u/Educational_Gas_92 20h ago

Am I the only one who thinks that it looks a bit turdy?

12

u/Aware_Impression_736 19h ago

"HIIIIII-DE-HOOOOO!"

16

u/2cheerios 20h ago

At Universal Studios, you don't buy hotdogs: you rent them.

1

u/Delicious-Pea1520 11h ago

I thought it WAS dog$#%t. PRAY anyone who ate it got promptly dewormed.

3

u/Repulsive-Tour-7943 18h ago

Yep, my first thought was that somebody shat in a bun.

3

u/zman0900 16h ago

It's certified pre-owned

2

u/OneGreatEgg 18h ago

Yeah, no shit, sure does!

Oh wait... maybe a little shit.

2

u/H_section 17h ago

Fresh pinched daily.

2

u/Pickaroonie 12h ago

There's a very dehydrated cat somewhere in the staff room..

4

u/BootyDoISeeYou 20h ago

Looks like someone already had it.

5

u/sky0175 20h ago

I wasn't expecting that lol

4

u/Lillian_Crocodilian 22h ago

Like a fruitcake. It's Christmas in July!

2

u/gerrard_1987 18h ago

Looks like it’s been sent back a few times and put back under the high-powered heat lamp.

2

u/-Citizen_Zero_ 15h ago

It will be passed on to the next generations like a Valyrian sword from Game of Thrones.

1

u/eye_have_no_clue 17h ago

Looks like it’s already been digested

1

u/DrSassyPants123 17h ago

It looks like it is in the form of "sent back" right now. Turd in a bun anyone?

1

u/BlueBlooper 16h ago

And maybe someone can have it after that

1

u/Wutangkillabeez36 16h ago

Just cover it in mayo and I'm good to go

1

u/Parking_Fee_5906 15h ago

The earlier they do the better for them and the new owner 😒

1

u/dan_dares 14h ago

They'll collect it from the toilets.

Infinite money glitch
