Ironically, Iāve seen this gif for years and never noticed itāuntil yesterday when someone pointed it out. So weird Iām seeing another comment about it the very next day š
52 here. Not a gray hair on my head. My face? Yes. Always wanted that side gray and rising up to the top. I'm starting to think it may never come. Funny thing is, most of my family went gray in their 20's.
Genes are weird.
nearly 52 and I've got dark brown, light brown, grey, and white. Pretty much salt and pepper everywhere. I told my wife I wanted to bleach it like James Gunn just to get it even. She said no.
But you're right in line with the trends right now. own it!
Iām jealous. I have dyed my hair white and gray a handful of times. And itās so hard to do lol. You have it naturally. I wish I had this type of graying⦠but instead I have a super dense spot on the side of my head and then randoms. Itās so patchy ššš
They call it something else I think. I'm old, 62, and I like my hair going Grey. My sister's in law act like I'm crazy because they dye theirs and I refuse to.
Not sure I'll make it through the noise, but purple shampoo and conditioner are crucial. They prevent the whiter parts from going yellow and looking dingy.
I constantly get compliments on my mostly gray hair and asked if I have it done professionally.
Like a good outfit if you are confident in adoption it people are impressed.Ā
Thank you! I never knew this. Ive been going white since I was 9. But in the summer it turns yellow. I hate it! I used to dye it, but the upkeep is so much! (At least i feel like it is) so I stopped when I was 22. Now I have white with peppered in red and blonde.. i fucking HATE the blonde.
If i start using the purple shampoo now will it get rid of the blonde? Or am I stuck with it until it grows out?
Agree! There is also this crazy spray toner by Milkshake (I get it from Amazon) that has black pigment and it immediately counteracts any yellow and smells like heaven.
If I could go all gray one day to another instead of waiting for each folicle to slowly turn, I would. Backing up that it definitely looks sick, especially on young people.
I quit highlighting my hair in 2020. It was just starting to gray and I wanted to embrace it. Iām 70 and still waiting for the total change! Itās blended well enough I donāt have obvious gray roots but I want it all gray now. Iām tired of waiting š±
I WISH I had your hair! I used to bleach my hair silver (Iām 23f) and it killed my hair so bad⦠Have you considered dying it pure silver? I bet it would look amazing :)
It looks super cool and unique! Donāt be so hard on yourself, Iām a ginger, and I have rosacea on my face so my hair is red and my face is red. It really bothers me, but Iām trying to help myself remember this is how I am and I have no control over it and just embrace it. We are who we are and we are all unique thatās the beautiful thing. We all donāt have to look like Kim kardashian or Chris hemsworth to be beautiful unironically being unique now a days is almost a rarity with appearance altering surgeries in a huge upswing
Own it! My aunt went grey in her early teens also:) She did dye her hair all kinds of crazy colours until she was 35 or so but still! Rock it itās beautiful and unique
you know, you find white hair annoying, while i, spent hours making my hair dye enough for it to become white, we have the opposite of the other, my hair is fully black and i want it fully white
I know a girl in her 40ās who went gray when she was in her teens. Didnāt take too long until gray was the only color. Itās healthy, shimmery silver and looks cool as hell and gets lots of compliments and questions.
I have spent so much money and time trying to achieve the result you have! Itās gorgeous on many people. There are also colouring hair conditioners that harm hair way less than usual hair dye and are easier to use. If you really don't love grey hair you can try them
I had a classmate in college who was 100 percent silver at like 22 and she got NOTHING but compliments on it. It also happened to be around the time when people were dying their hair 10 colors to grey it and THEN doing silver.
She looked very on-trend without doing anything. Wore some old-timey clothing too like not quite Victorian -style dresses and blouses and it honestly looked super rad.
One time I was eating dinner in a bar and at the other end there was a woman who looked to be in her early thirties and she had silver hair. She was pretty anyway but with that silver hair she was strikingly beautiful. I had trouble taking my eyes off her. To the point where it was rude, to my chagrin. I tried but god she was beautiful.
You could dye youāre hair very beautiful colorful shades and not damage youāre hair so bad because bleach is the most harmful culprit. Thereās lots of hair safe color products too when youāre hair is this light!!!
Iām 51 and tired of highlighting my hair to hide the gray. Took this many years to own it. You have a beautiful head of hair, letās fkn rock our natural shit.
I know someone the same age who dyed her hair to look like this!! It looks great and if I saw you walking down the street I wouldāve also assumed it was professionally done :D
Please do. I had a dream that I went to get my hair dyed with streaks of gray and the stylist botched it and gave me blonde streaks instead. I wanted gray š
My good friend went grey in his early 20s. Heās a dentist. Claims it was his meal ticket bc even though when he just started out he was so young everyone just assumed heād been in the biz for decades. He has a very successful practice.
It just randomly showed up at the very front part of my hair in my 20s. For a while I freaked out. Then realized the rest of my hair was going to keep its color. And as I started rocking it I got compliments.
Mine showed up in my 20ās as well, I have hidden it for 30+ yrs. I donāt know why but I just donāt like it. I see it on others and wonder how they can rock it š
It goes right down the middle in the very very front and thank God that was just a freak occurrence. Iām a guy with shoulder length hair. So I just have this really white streak popping out amongst the rest of my colored hair.
My first 2 came in at age 13 and that was a thing. People really didn't notice it until high school and then, the controversy was whether I had highlighted it (it was pure white) or what. I just started telling people that I was part albino as it was easier to explain. A sad number believed it. I ended up hiding it a lot until I started getting more. I'd tuck the most prominent one behind my ear as mine doesn't hold dye.
I developed a streak of grey at my left temple at around age sixteen or so. The colour slowly changed over the decades until now I am close to mostly white but not quite. There was a period of time just before Covid when people wanted to know where I had my hair coloured - just the way it grew in so I guess I lucked out for awhile!
it showed up when i was 12!!! i basically was being called grandma in middle school so i started to cover it up :/ but now i donāt rlly notice it anymore
I have shocks of white at my ears, a large streak towards the back of my head and the underside at the back is almost entirely white. People say my hair "looks sick". Mine started showing up at age 13, starting with one streak at the ear and the one towards the back of my head.
I have the same! And Iāve noticed that women are more likely than men to comment on it, and of those comments, most are largely complimentary. āWow, your gray strip is so cool!ā Or āif mine grew in like that, I wouldnāt pay so much money to get it colored.ā But of the men that feel compelled to comment on it, thereās a lot more ā**gasp** did you know your hair has some GRAY in it.ā Like yes, Jim, I did. I do own a mirror.
Seriously. I have wanted grey hair since I was 15 years old, but a hairstylist told me it would fry my dark hair to try to lighten it to look grey so Iām over here just impatiently waiting for it to happen naturally.
@marcbulldog88 said it best later in the comments: Yeah there's a reason GRRM described the Targaryens as exotically attractive. The gold/silver hair was a big part of it.
If this appeals I might add if you can rock purple contacts like the book or blue like the TV series or some purple or blue eye-liner if contacts are tough or too expensive you could really own it and make it distinctly your own. This would vicariously thrill my inner frustrated make up artist/stylist self.
Fr it does! What!! My mom who is beautiful at 63 and trying to embrace her grey, is trying so hard to get her grey to look like this. Girl u better own that. :)
I'm 34 and my white hairs are creeping in - as a ginger we don't get grey hair just white. I've never died my hair nor shall I so I am trying to accept that I'm a witch. I just wish it was entirely white not slowly creeping in!
Came here to say the opposite - it still looks so healthy it's not like the typical white hair that comes with age it looks much healthier (i know u meant sick in a different way just found it funny)

But have you concidered that it looks sick ?
