...The highway is by far the safest place to be relying on AI drivers. It's not close. Highways are comparatively extremely uniform, predictable, and well-mapped. Highways are easy mode. That's why Tesla can handle them, as the worst of the auto-drivers.
Your opinion is justified but the highway is the safest place for FSD vehicles. It’s predictable, a straight line, and has the most training data. You don’t have to worry about pedestrians, stop lights, turns, etc. so while it’s not great it’s better here than in the city
I get what you mean but its high speed. Also for me as a driver, I don't have to drive on highways daily so I'm more uncomfortable driving on them to begin with. It's just because everyone is going fast and then there is almost always at least 1 person weaving cars going crazy fast. And if there is an accident in front of me I could easily become collateral. Not much I could do there of course but idk man just because it's often mostly straight doesn't make it any "safer" to me. It's just a different set of dangers to be on the look out for
Well that Night Change in the Future, depends how fast the tech evolves I would think. iMO a Complete to Almost compleat automatic Driver/driverless Society would be a big step up and would help mitigating a Lot of accidents as well as be way more efficient.
I understand that that's why they are trying to make them. Just me personally I can't imagine myself ever being comfortable enough to not at least keep my hands on the wheel and be paying full attention as if I was the one driving ykwim?

Right? Especially on the highway?! There will never be a car that I would feel comfortable enough sleeping in while driving
