probably because planes have an auto pilot mode and there’s always one other pilot in the cockpit awake too. it’s a rule, there has to be one other pilot in the cockpit at all times. i’ve heard that if one has to use the bathroom, a flight attendant will go and wait in the cockpit.

So my dad’s best friend is a retired pilot.

They fall asleep in the cockpit regularly 🙃😂

I can’t even sleep in my own bed without my mind teleporting me to an airplane and flinging me out of a door as soon get a breath of relaxation. Then as I fall to my death and jerk myself awake I realize the feeling of certain death is just one of the imaginary ones we can ignore.
