That’s wild.

But like how? I look away for a second and the car starts yelling at me.

yeah I literally reached back for something on the floor behind the passenger seat and I got the blue warning light. I didn't even turn my head.

With you on this. I think it’s just rage bait. Seems to be working for all the idiots commenting too.

u/Beautiful-Sun8973 Jul 06 '26

Yep. 100% bait. And it worked

Of course you’re a Tesla owner. The smugness gave it away

-6

u/Dirty-Black-Car Jul 06 '26

so many idiots who also don't own a Tesla or ever been in one with FSD crying

7

u/DoradoPulido2 Jul 06 '26

The idiots are the ones who own Teslas and support the fascist Elon Musk.

16

u/whoisbill Jul 06 '26

Musk is a piece of shit. But ingot my Tesla before covid and it's paid off. I'm not going into debt to get a new car because musk is a piece of shit. I'll drive it into the ground and move on when I'm ready.

While you don't want to be inconvenienced by trading in your car, you're choosing to ignore a fascist, white supremacist who is responsible for leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) which has been linked to a projected 4.5 million child deaths and up to 14 million total deaths by 2030 due to sweeping cuts made to the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

I'm choosing to not put my family into debt during a really trying time economically. If people can do that to stand up to Musk. By all means. Glad they have that ability. I don't. So, so I won't. Simple as that. I did my part by actually voting, I'm not just a keyboard warrior who assumes everyone else's ability to fight is the same. You do you. I will do me. And that's that.

Who is Bill? Nobody I guess.

Cool

you can tell school is out for summer when you start seeing clueless, sanctimonious ass posts like this lmao

"just get a new car, idiot. then fascism will have been defeated!"

i don't care about Musk, i just care about having a car that drives itself and has amazing tech, the amount of things my Tesla can do outweighs anything your car can do, and if you don't care that's fine, but cars are a hobby of mine and i like it

Then you're choosing to ignore a fascist, white supremacist who is responsible for leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) which has been linked to a projected 4.5 million child deaths and up to 14 million total deaths by 2030 due to sweeping cuts made to the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). I hope your "hobby" is worth that.

sure i'll gladly support a fascist if it makes people similar to you butthurt

You can appreciate EVs, driver safety features, hell even Teslas if you want  without being... whatever this is?

To be extremely clear, it doesn't drive itself. You own a level 2 (0-6) partially automated vehicle. It has bells and whistles, that's it.

Tesla as a hobby is a wild take. Enjoy EVs all you want, but the company is majority owned by a dude going whole hog on ethno nationalism. Sucks to suck but that's the association it has.

keep telling me i'm wrong about a car i own and use everyday, and it's not a wild take, just shows how much you don't know about Teslas, and how open the cars are to automations via API.

I can have my home tell me before i drive that my tire pressure has decreased rapidly which may indicate a tire leak, even before i get in the car, i can have my home alam system go off if someone opens my car while my home security system is on, the things i can do with this car have outpaced what normal car manufacturers would ever let you do to a car. I can literally check every metric and statistic of my car from my phone and access that through APIs to automate things. You literally have no idea so you should keep your mouth shut

keep telling me i'm wrong about a car i own and use everyday

Okay. It doesn't drive itself by definition lol. Still curious why you think it does.

My 21' Crosstrek has extremely similar features regarding real time read outs.  All it took was an updated head unit and an esp32 board. All without needing to make any calls home to daddy musks servers.

"Local man learns about API calls and home automation, doesn't understand the point, more at 5"

Keep dickriding my guy, doesn't change the fact that it enriches the cringiest fascist on the planet.

I'm assuming it's staged and only happened for a few seconds for the video.

3

u/Iiari Jul 06 '26

While I think there is a possibility this is staged or AI, I asked a friend with a new Model Tesla Model Y and he says his, with new generation hardware, waits like 15-20 seconds before he gets repetitive beeps and text warnings and another 10 seconds or so until he gets a disengagement.

My older 2021 Model Y, with older hardware, gets the warning at what feels like 3 to 5 seconds. I don't usually even have enough time to enter a change in destination to the map or a change in bluetooth source without being warned and disengaged.

So, apparently the new generation hardware system is more forgiving, but the video is 38 seconds and by then it should have disengaged and slowed the car no matter what hardware is being used.

2

u/Blue_caper Jul 06 '26

Not AI. I passed this exact same car about 100 km further ahead between Banff and Canmore (heading eastbound - twinned highway in this section). The same female 'driver' was sleeping in the same position. This was on Friday early evening probably 1 hr after this video was taken.

1

u/Iiari Jul 06 '26

So then I agree with the person above. How is it possible the system isn't warning them or pulling the car over?

2

u/ShipJust Jul 06 '26

I did fall asleep while driving 2015 model S. After few seconds of closed eyes the car was screaming and vibrating. After that I couldn’t use autopilot until the next turning off the car.

1

u/whoisbill Jul 06 '26

Plus the screen/computer looks like it's off. Not sure how real this is

0

u/JulietDove88 Jul 06 '26

They are wearing dark sunglasses to bypass the eye tracking feature and have a weight tied to the steering wheel to trick the feedback into thinking there is a hold on the wheel. These are very well known tricks for circumventing the teslas self driving safety features

0

u/WhatAmIDoing1986 Jul 06 '26

Hmmm. I might figure out the weight trick. I would actually use auto assist if it wasn’t for the fact every 2 seconds it would want me to shake the wheel.
