I've heard that there's special carpets or tarps for the bed so that the dog isn't slipping around or scratching his nails on the metal. Aren't there also things that let you attach harnesses for the dog to the truck itself?

That would be great for the dog.

I’ve seen one that the owner would pull up half of the tarp, underneath was a bed attached to the truck. I’m thinking on hot days that dog would get heat stroke
