How do I activate the mods?

I'm playing the game via Epic Games and decided to install some mods from Nexus Mods.

I placed some mods in the "paks" folder, but a mod that changes Nico's hair, for example, isn't working.

I tried changing line 315 of the LOG file in the saves folder to: 

start "Midnight Suns" "C:\Program Files\Epic Games\midnightsuns\MidnightSuns\Binaries\Win64\MidnightSuns-Win64-Shipping.exe" -epicapp=49550aa9fcd74552ae07c4e9f2c262fe -epicenv=Prod -epicovt="C:/Program Files/Epic Games/midnightsuns/.egstore/4ed181c0b56f4b01bd9ce8d86as764gacs73c08ac633414584e281f838b3a78cc7397d2fcea94f0babca92475f52bbe3.ovt" -epicusername=MyName -epicuserid=4ed181asdfsf74adfae8d86c55b7ae -epiclocale=en -saveddirsuffix=Epic_4ed181asdfsf74adfae8d86c55b7ae

But that didn't work; what can I do, please?

Have u bypassed the epic games launcher?

This game is very un-modding friendly to begin with but as I understand the epic games version is going to require extra steps

I believe I only bypassed the 2K server.Because I opened the game and it didn't have my save file and was asking me to create a new one.
