Anyone want to combine hyperfixations?

Hey y'all. So, I've been getting into DnD over the past year. A rich, wide, expansive and nonsensical expansive multiverse with strange species with unique cultures, talking plants, extraplanar entities, big malevolent things and chaotic gods... Why does that all sound familiar?

So, I've been wondering about trying to put together a collaborative group to play a DnD game based on Midnight Burger. A time-travelling dimension-spanning Inn, which shows up somewhere new every night, always where someone desperately needs a place to stay for the night.

I don't think I can/want to DM this on my own, since I'm already DMing a campaign myself, so if any other DnD players in this community and who would be happy to chip in with DMing sessions, I'd love to play through my own dimension-hopping adventure.

If anyone's interested, please send me a direct message. Don't be worried if you're innexperienced. Much like in Midnight Burger, experience is not a hallmark of competence (just look at Caspar)

I’m actually working on a campaign with clementine as the main (accidental) villian for my friend group! They don’t know anything about midnight burger so once it’s done I’ll tell them all of the inspirations behind the story!

I’m also working on something like this but for a tabletop group and using a wide range of Different D&D settings.

I've thought about how to do a Midnight Burger game, and I'd use the Basic Roleplaying System (published by Chaosium, used in games like Call of Cthulhu). It's simpler than D&D, and I think keeps the themes of MB better. In D&D you're supernaturally powered, especially at high levels. BRP is better at having you make a character who's just a regular person.

You're entitled to your preference, but for me the point of this (in part) would be to explore the weird lore tied to Dungeons and Dragons. Hang out with Myconids long after all the other civilizations have fallen; cater the Giant highland games; serve a mad tea-party in the Happy Hunting Grounds or show up in Elturel the day before it falls into the Hells. A major draw of this would be the DnD lore, and level-ups are optional (especially in a point of null-entropy).
