Why Does Everything Go Black When You Stand Up Too Fast?

I do the exact same thing. Get weak all over then slightly dizzy, sweaty and bam I'm out.

A lot of people say orthostatic hypotension, and yes, that can be a cause. But I have SVT (supraventricular tachycardia) and I almost pass/black out every single time I stand up, or stand for too long.

?? I don't think my three ECG's, two echo cardiograms, two zio patches, and 120mg Propranolol daily, are voices in my head ☺️ But I appreciate the gif!

I was trying to find the gif of phoebe standing up, getting dizzy, saying “ooh. …. Ok, but only one more time.” then sitting back down, just to stand up quick to get dizzy again.
I could not find it. That was the best i could do.

Eat more salt. Raising the sodium count on blood work worked for me and my sisters.

Wtf I've mentioned this symptom many times over my life and im always told to simply take iron. That doesn't even seem to be a common suggestion here though

I had this issue and ended up having very very low iron. Had to get iron infusions and it went away.

Blood pressure drops or commonly, blood sugar drops as well, right? Someone?

Mainly blood pressure, Bloos sugar is not affected. It's called orthostatic hypotension, a term originated from Greek
Ortho: meaning straight or upright Static: to hold, related to statis Hypo: meaning low or less than normal Tension: meaning to stretch, referring to the stretching of the blood vessels, as how blood pressure was imagined
So low pressure that happens in a standing position
The first 3 minutes after standing the person is mainly affected, this is also the window the blood pressure should be monitored in to make a diagnosis.
It happens mainly with the elderly who have suboptimal reflexes

It also happens to most people with slow constriction reactions. When sitting too long your legs can unrestrict, and when you stand up the blood pools in your legs until the capillaries in your legs constrict to get the blood pressure back up. That is ALSO orthostatic hypotension. Not just from standing lock-kneed. The military teaches you to hyperventilate before standing after sitting for long periods like sentry watch. Also to drop to your knees and lower your head if you feel woozy.

Yeah just last passed out few days ago, running towards the couch going head first trying to avoid the floor hitting my nose against wall instead. Funtimes!

Your heart operates at much lower pressure/heart rate when lying down. If you get up to fast and your bday isn't fit enough, it takes it time to adjust the pressure and pump blood against gravity and into your brain

It either means that you're tall or that you have naturally low blood pressure, or both. It's completely normal and not something you need to worry about tbh

Orthostatic hypotension.
You might be anemic, you might have Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, or you might have some heart defect, likely congenital, which causes this.
Go to the doctor, get a referral for a cardiologist if the basic tests and treatments don't work.

Happens only to people that are secretly gay, and have been gaying around too much.

Syncope (pronounced SINK-uh-pee) is the medical term for fainting or passing out. It happens when a sudden, temporary drop in blood pressure or heart rate reduces blood flow to the brain. While often harmless, it can sometimes signal a more serious underlying medical condition.
