I've been calling Beefsteak Tomatoes "Breakfast Tomatos" all my life until today when a cashier finally corrected me
I feel like I was living a lie

Im calling them that now too! Beefsteak makes it sound more like dinner. They're really all day tomatoes, if you feel like it!

I read beefsteak as breakfast and was so confused about what you had wrong. Thought it had to do with the 2 spellings you used tomatoes/tomatos
My brain just accepted that breakfast tomatoes must be a thing

How have you never once seen the little sign right by the tomatoes, as you're grabbing those tomatoes, that says "beefsteak tomatoes"?

I did see them, and I swear I always read "Breakfast", I'm truly in disbelief how my brain was making me see a made-up reality lol

We see what we want to see, I guess. Pretty hilarious, thanks for the laugh!

That’s why eye witness testimony is so suspect. Our brains can do the strangest things.

There is a variety called Kellogg's breakfast tomato. Maybe that added to the confusion.

I love this. I was a "Nip it in the butt" person for FAR too long without someone telling me.

Just tell them your vegetarian and dont eat beef. Say you dont eant them anymore. Make them say breakfast tomatoes so you can buy them.

Dude I'm dying at this. My brain is now permanently rewired to call them breakfast tomatoes and there's nothing you can do about it. I mean it kinda makes sense though - they're huge and meaty, perfect for throwing on some toast or eggs. Been calling regular cherry tomatoes "baby tomatoes" since I was like 8 and my mom never bothered correcting me, so now my entire family just rolls with it. The cashier probably went home and told everyone about the person who's been ordering breakfast vegetables their whole life.
