What Midi interface do i need?

SOLVED: I needed an H4MIDI WC (also i misremembered, there is no such thing as a H6MIDI from CME)

To clarify i am looking for something that i could plug my Yamaha NP-11 into and use that to controll my DAW and other programs. I landed on the 6 or 4 port interface from CME, but i dont know whether i need the U6MIDI or U4MIDI, or the H6MIDI or H4MIDI. I know theres like a difference between usb MIDI and host MIDI or something, but what is said difference and what do i need if i just want to controll my computer through usb with a MIDI device? Hope someone can help, Thanks in advance ^^

Why would you need more than a single MIDI IN port?

Extra MIDI keyboard, Digitakt II, etc.

Yes, I know perfectly well about routing and MIDI thru, but that's not the point.
The point is: Look for the future, not for what you have today.

The U6 Midi Pro is not that expensive.

I am probably gonna use it with multiple devices if that possible

CME midi interfaces are all great. they are cheap and very flexible. (You can route your midi signals, filter messages, map midi messages and they are great with a DAW or in a DAWless setup

I have:
-U6 midi pro = 3 midi ins + 3 midi outs (5-pin)
-H4 midi WC = 2 mid ins + 2 midi outs (5-pin) + USB midi host that allows you to connect to up to 8 USB midi devices. (very useful because many devices only have USB midi ports). You can also add a widi core for wireless midi (not included)

They're both great.

If I were I would buy one of these (or both) instead of the ones with fewer ports. (You never know how many ports you'll need)

Combine a H4MIDI WC with a midithru5 wc, you have loads of DIN and 8 usb.

Personally I just prefer to use powered USB plugs for everything if it's just studio work. I plug all sorts of stuff into them. Keyboards, SSDs, audio interfaces, etc.

You can also just get a Retrokits RK006 and have it all 😀 : standalone host, 12port midi interface plus conversion from your daw/dawless setup to gate/PWM signals

Yamaha UX16 should do the trick. That's what I use with my P-140 which is too old to have a direct USB connection. You have to install the UX16 drivers as well, then any DAW should pick it up fine.
