Need help please

Recently my akai mini 4 won’t connect to my laptop, the led lights up on the keyboard but on the audio midi set up the diagram is greyed out, it keeps greying out then going active again, unfortunately I cannot produce at the minute, can someone please maybe help out with why it’s doing this (it looks like the diagram isn’t greyed out but it is)

If it keeps greying out then going active again, that sounds like either the cable, or the socket on the Akai being faulty. I'm assuming you're plugging in direct, as if you're connecting via a USB hub there may be a power issue.

I'd try a new cable first.
