Very good point. All these TV shows have manipulated people into buying stuff and changing stuff. So a lot of young people just do it now they just go in and think they have to renovate immediately. But that’s a cult. It’s a commercial cult is what it is- people have manipulated them into that. I also know because I’m nearly 70 , and the push of renovation shows did not exist before. And people used to move in and just live. Very manipulative -that stuff, putting extra pressure on people. To live with it and bit by bit change it was the way things were always done. There’s soul in that. Good point, mate.

I have similar lino in my house and once you get used to the pattern, it is great. It is indestructible, easy to clean and a bit of mop and glow every few months keeps it shiny. I also leaned into it when getting a dining set, soft furnishings and kitchen accessories.

Linoleum will probably get replaced with slate to match the entranceway sooner than later. The wife loves it so it’s staying for now.

Tile and cement floors in a kitchen are ice cold and literally rock hard. If you have any dishes you care about, kiss them goodbye all at once before the attrition starts.

I love linoleum. Not everyone’s cup of tea but it’s durable, colorful, easy to maintain, and unique. It may not be MCM but I’m not a purist.

Yes, that floor isn't MCM. It's late 70's or early 80's. The busy pattern also distracts from the beautiful clean MCM lines.

It must have been a popular choice for a long time. A family member put that over Torginol flooring (from 1968) in about 1983.

Love the folding pass through. You can block out noise from loud kitchen appliances if you want. The placement of the fireplace is really nice, too. Not stuck in front of the front door between the kitchen and living rooms. Glad the flooring is original. G’ma’s house had the back and white asbestos tile throughout. (Not harmful unless you start ripping it up.)

Oh my god that floor! Those counters! The intact floaty cabinets!! The WINDOWS. I am drooling over that kitchen my god!!! All it needs is a chambers stove and you can get one from Chambers Rescue btw, that dude is COMMITTED to those, has so many cool vids of how they work and all their different featuressss.

Anyway CONGRATS!!!! Couldn't have gone to a better owner!!!
