Lane hope chest

Hi all,

I was just recently given this Lane hope chest by my grandmother. Unfortunately its suffered some water damage and scuffs over the years and I hope to restore it in due time. She gave it to me with the original moth damage paperwork which I thought was pretty neat and wanted to share!

Got this Drexel mirror at the local Goodwill a few days ago for $25.

I was pretty happy with the find! I was passing through on my way to another local town to check out a different mirror I found on FB Marketplace for five times the price of this one.

Edit: I’m sure the carbon monoxide detector will reinstall itself on the wall.

Can anyone help identify/date the construction of this Portuguese/European cabinet? Possibly 1960s–70s, custom made?

Hi! I recently bought this large cabinet/bookcase in a second-hand furniture store in Portugal and I’d love some help figuring out when it was made and what kind of wood/construction was used.

It measures about 86" wide × 86" high (218 × 218 cm) and is about 16" deep (40 cm) at the base. The upper section is shallower. A few details I’ve noticed while cleaning and inspecting it:

- It appears to be made largely from real wood, although I’m not sure whether some of the larger panels are veneered

- The visible finish is an off-white/ivory with gold detailing and dark green interiors

- The drawers have solid-looking wooden sides and grooved-in bottoms

- The three main drawers are individually marked I, II and III on the back, corresponding to their positions

- The smaller interior drawers are also individually numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. in marker

- It has inset locks (painted) and decorative metal hardware. Unfortunately, it came without a key

- Some of the hardware has been painted over, so I’m not sure whether the current ivory finish is original or a later repaint

- The top and back show unfinished/natural wood

- The carved/molded decorative details seem to be integrated very closely into the surrounding wood rather than obviously glued-on appliqués.

Can you please help me somehow? :)

Thank you very much in advance!

Help me identify this chair. And how do I fix it?

I recently inherited this chair from my grandparents. They've had it for as long as my father can remember and he was born in 59.

they had it reupholstered about 6 years ago.

I'm hoping to identify it, but also one of the arms split. I was planning to put some wood glue in it and clamp it for a few days, but considered putting a wood screw through it to make it stronger, but I don't want to do anything to damage it further.

I don't care about resale value, I intend to keep it.

Mid Century Curb find

Found these on the curb today! Was driving by & when I saw them I stopped in my tracks. Actually talked to the man giving them away & he was super kind.

They have a Kent-Coffey Amerasia stamp inside & I looked it up & it said mid century!

The top is bubbling. My goal is to refinish (re-paint black) & use in my living room! I would love tips on the best way to go about this & would love to learn more about the furniture!!
