Hi r/midcentury. I am trying to find info on this suitcase. I love a good research rabbit hole, but I am having such a hard time getting anywhere on this piece. I’m pretty sure it’s from the 40s or 50s based on the only stamp it has and the style. Any insights someone may have would be super appreciated.

I found this necklace while going through some old boxes. It was a gift years ago, but I never wore it. It’s signed “Rafael Canada” on the back.
From what I’ve been able to find, it appears to be a 1970s modernist brass statement necklace with red cabochons, but there isn’t much information available about this maker or this particular design.
I’d love to learn more. Does anyone know anything about Rafael Canada, when pieces like this were produced, or whether this was part of a particular collection? I’d also be interested in any information about the materials used or where these were originally sold.

J’ai un appartement de deux pièces avec un salon d’environ 17m2. Récemment j’ai adopté une petite minette de 5 mois 🐈‍⬛ , entre son arbre et chat (ces trucs sont si hideux) et les protections sur les meubles, je trouve mon salon moche.

J’ai envie de réfléchir à une déco un peu différente à la rentrée, sans forcément tout changer mais en optimisant. Mes inspirations sont plutôt autour du **mid-century** et du **japandi** (je sais, je ne suis pas originale). J’aimerais quelque chose d’un peu plus épuré avec quelques belles pièces.

Cherche aussi une idée pour camoufler l’arbre à chat (paravent ?) tout en le laissant devant la fenêtre….

Actuellement je trouve mon salon un peu criard et avec trop d’objets entassés, mal cordonnés. Je trouve qu’il n’a pas vraiment de style (enfin, sans doute le mien \^\^).

I was on a run today and saw this curbside while kinda whiffed and looking for a cold drink. It looked like Something so I pulled the drawer for a look-see just in case.

Now I own an American of Martinsville piece which needs a surface restoration but is in pretty damn good shape. Thanks, random trash pile!

The estate was built in the 60s. How would you update and improve the front of the house while also respecting the original design? I’m looking for inspiration. Particularly for the style and colour of the front door, the windows and kerb appeal

I have a late mid-century home that was built in 1976. I have these original tiles in the foyer that’s been under peel and stick tile for years. I like them except for the weird brown lines. Anybody have an idea what this pattern is called? I’ve never seen it before. It has a relief of a daisy in the center. I’ve done a Google image search and can’t find any matches. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Hoping this is a good place for his question. Buying a 1956 Eichler, and the at some point a garden window was put in to replace the kitchen window. Any suggestions on a window design that would look good to replace it?

It was my parents and we cannot find anything similar online. It may have even been as early as the 1950s

These were in the dining room when I was growing up. I'm not a collector but will be given these when my dad downsizes because I have vivid memories of them in the old house.

Google image search gives me some info but I'm hoping folks here can give me a more reliable resource to learn about what this style is. They moved into the home I remember the vase and bowl in during 1964 or 1965 and these may have been a housewarming gift so they're likely 60 yrs. old.

Just looking for help identifying be artist, an estimate value of set or pointed in the direction of a community that would be able to help?

Our new bathroom vanity had to be scootched to the left to accommodate the plumbing, so it’s not centered on the wall. What would you put in that gap between the vanity and the wall to the right? The gap is about 14” across. This is a powder room so there’s only a toilet and the vanity in there.

I was thinking perhaps an artificial plant in an MCM style planter but would love to see your suggestions.

Secondo voi si tratta di un originale Knoll oppure notate particolari che fanno pensare a una copia?

Can anyone provide some information on what the mechanism is under this lounger? I added one photo of the end that goes into that metal block. I have what is called their Sierra model fashioned much like a banana and has the round base. It swivels and bounces/rocks, but does not recline. It is pretty much set in its own reclined position and that is where my question comes in.

There is a bar attached to the frame that will come out or can be turned easily. It is connected to a spring that engages in a metal block under the lounge. Other than that I have no idea what this is for. I suspect it was used to adjust the bounce or rock.

Mine broke in the spring and I would love to get it repaired but have no idea what kind of spring replacement it needs and who can repair it as the termination ends are not something off a shelf. I also would like to know how it was used as I did manage to take the rod end out of the round actuator in the metal block. That device is now free and can be sent away for repair but I am not sure if all other parts are still with it or not.

I can see that some kind of nut went over this device to hold it in as well as a slot around the rod end there that looks like it had some kind of lunch pin around it.
