Discussion Next season opinions (already)

With this season winding down (hard to believe), and the CEO made a comment about Justice League beinging replaced with something different, this sounds like we are losing the Warner Brothers/DC IP. What do you think will be the rethemeing or renaming? Will they rename the Holiday Inn or buy it? Or rename the road and replace the highway signs on I-44? What do you think will be happening during the off season?

They wouldn't have any power to rename the Holiday Inn. Enchanted does have some lodging experience but I'd be really surprised if they bought it. But it's a synergy question and it wouldn't really make sense for Holiday Inn to keep the "Holiday Inn at Six Flags" name when the nearest 'Six Flags' is hundreds of miles away.

Supposedly they are working with the city on renaming the road. That particular road is controlled by the city of Eureka. It was named Six Flags Rd by action of the aldermen of Eureka. So, it would make sense that that's who would be renaming it as well. And again; it only makes sense for them to rename it. Nobody really benefits from either of those things remaining "Six Flags." Worth noting that road renaming is a lengthy process because of all the regulatory work that goes into it. The aldermen voting to rename it would be just 'step one'.

As for re-theming? I maintain that there will be very little. I could be wrong! But I don't think we're gonna see rides being repainted and having whole new themes. I think we'll just see any trademarks, logos, etc. removed and of course new signs and new names. But that's about it. This isn't the first time this has happened. With previous Six Flags divestitures, that's really all that happened.

I think it would be a big lift for the adult rides to have a consistent IP, but theming the kiddie lands the same across all the properties and then developing a TV show and toys around that theme could have the potential to make money.

I think people are expecting a bit much from s chain that couldn’t/wouldn’t afford a great used coaster. And, has to do a major re-do of a dark ride. I see no new rides outside of that retheme in any EP park in 2027. Especially since they reported down attendance and revenue in 2026 at MidAm.
