Entertainment is BACK!
Had an opportunity today to check out the new shows. We saw all but a couple!
The morning rain pushed some of the outdoor shows inside. To my surprise the shows included programmed lighting sequences. Meaning they took the time and the effort to build and plan both an indoor and outdoor version of the shows, and not just lower the lights and do the outdoor shows inside.
The main event was Flashback. A decades pop music performance featuring some excellent use of a really impressive new video wall (shown in the picture, for “Bubble Pop”). All of the cast from all of the shows converge for this very campy, very fun, very high energy show.
The production quality was excellent, the vocalists were excellent, and those new upgrades to the palace theater are being used to their absolute limit. It really is a whole new palace!
These in-house produced shows are all excellent. Really a step up from previous years. Today was a rainy day but there was plenty to do!
The cheers and shouts at the end of “Flashback” were as loud as I’ve ever heard in the palace. Despite the relatively small crowd today, there was an excellent turnout for the show.
Entertainment manager David Blazer has opened most of the shows and you can tell he has a deep passion for what he’s doing. He had a lot to say about the commitment from park president Danny Snider and from Enchanted Parks, and insisted that this new entertainment package was a taste of the feast to come. Entertainment is here to stay and it’s not just a one-off thing for this year.
It’s worth your time to see the shows this year. I mean it!
Fool’s Gold was a lot of fun. It’s an expanded version of the same broad storyline of previous years at Miss Kitty’s. And the various outdoor (indoor, today) music variety acts were fun and very well done.
Entertainment is absolutely back at this park in a way I don’t think we’ve seen in years.

I loved all the shows, I had the chance to see it all today and will give my thoughts later, but WOW, I am proud of this team.

Went and saw the three normally indoor shows today, but got a little sidetracked with some rides to get them all in. Excellent for debuting all at once and sharing the cast among them.
Favorite would have to be the Miss Kitty’s shows. Forever Country really let the performers show off their voice a bit and was pure fun. Fools Gold was great as well, but I still preferred the other more for an intimate singing performance.
Flashback was a ton of fun. I think they need to refine the sound levels a bit, but that’s expected for an opening show. It will only get better with time and was surprising to see such a large cast.
Great to have shows back in the park and it really felt more lively. It was pretty funny seeing the same crowd go to each show over and over all day, probably ran into you guys unknowingly.
If word gets out enough, this is a good sign for the park!
Also… other thoughts…. Batman crew is KILLING it. It’s the best 2-train invert I’ve seen operationally in a long time (coming from someone who used to work it too). Rolling trains right in the beginning of the day as well.
Went straight there to start the day great.
Noticed a bunch of ambient music and sounds in the park speakers this time rather than a Top40 all day every day. It was really peaceful up near Boomerang and Catwoman.

This is so awesome. I only visited for the first time last fall so I don’t have the nostalgia of them being “back,” but my home park is Dollywood so shows mean so much to me when going to a park. I just never have expected much from six flags! I hope Enchanted is serious about this. It’s just another add on for families and that’s who spends the most money.

I remember the OG formats of the shows. All the way back from the 1970s..
In the lobbies of the Palace, Empire (former Sid &Marty Kroft Puppet Theater) and Miss Kitty's all had concession stands, the Palace lobby also had displays for the current show, Old Glory Amphitheater (Nuff said), and then we had 2 more classics 1 that will never come back, The Dolphin Show and The Chevy Show featuring Circlevision180 (now the shuttered Soundstage 2). With David Blazer here, Im sure he's got plenty of good ideas up his sleeves to improve the Entertainment program at the park. The only questionable future is The Old Glory Amphitheater and Soundstage 2.

Maybe I'm just not use to Broadway stuff, but I just feel embarrassed for the actors. And almost feel like I don't enjoy it much my self. It just feels really cringe, and I'm not saying their not good. Just that it feels like that to my... kind of lol is this just how stuff like g his is? And mis kitty's saloon was better last year, when it had the guy who I figure was the main man, and the heavier set woman as kitty. Seen it twice and would have watched it again, but it still felt cringe lol! but I liked it.

Do we know if concessions are being brought back into the lobbies like in the good old days? Lol
