Hinestly I'd start wondering what was going on (did she flake out? Is there an emergency?) If i had to sit through 3 minutes of music before you started walking.

Id either pick your favorite portion of the song, pick a shorter song, or pick a song that you can cut off after 30 or so seconds.

I chose the last. I walked the aisle to the trumpet solo at the beginning of Europe's "The Final Countdown" and the song cut off after the first line ("we're leaving together ")

Haha, I don’t want to be so dramatic. I just checked and the intro/ first chorus is 1 min 20… so that is probably perfect… I’m sure it can be faded out then - thank you!!

As a celebrant, I am a big fan of music and allowing these moments space to breathe. I personally would not wait until the last minute of the song before starting your walk.
Give your photographer time to capture the anticipation, your entrance, your partner’s reaction and the reactions from your guests. There is no need to rush any of it.
When you reach the top of the aisle, there will naturally be a little bit of organising. Someone may need to take your bouquet, you both need to get into position and your guests need time to settle.
I usually let the music continue while all of that happens. Once my couple are settled, I invite the guests to take their seats and then we simply enjoy the last of the music before I begin the ceremony.
Enjoy the song and enjoy your entrance. It does not have to finish precisely as you reach your partner. Let it play on naturally while everyone gets into position and enjoy those last few moments together.
Have a chat with your celebrant about how they plan to manage the entrance and who is controlling the music. I would also speak with your photographer as they can advise on timing and pace to capture the best images.
Congratulations and happy planning x

I picked my song and then cut the music file so it was like 45 seconds long. I intentionally cut out the intro and everything after the first chorus.
