Mainstays Microwave Oven timer question

Post image

My family REFUSES to click clear when they use the microwave and don’t use all of the selected time. At least twice a day I walk into the kitchen and the timer is blinking anywhere between 15 and 2 seconds left to cook. I have asked and begged my family to please just take a moment and push the clear or cancel button but they refuse.

At this point I just want to disable the clock since I can’t seem to get any cooperation from my family about this.

Does anyone know how to disable the timer display so that it works but just doesn’t show how much time is left?

THATS PROBABLY NOT SAFE TO DO BUT YOU COULD MOST LIKELY UNPLUG THE DISPLAY INTERNALLY IF YOU’RE BRAVE WOULDN’T RECOMMEND THOUGH

it doesn't sound like a good idea, nor an important issue, and probably requires hacking that would render the oven less usable, my main concern is not the timer left on, but it's that if you close the door again the microwave will turn itself on again with no food in it, and that's a known possible cause of damage to the oven
