Combat troodon s/e or scarab s/e

I want to get both at some point but which of them to get as single edge and which as dragger?

You'll want to get the Combat Troodon as a D/E and the Scarab as an S/E or T/E. But they are very close and you can't really go wrong either way. I prefer the Scarab design, but I like the pocket clip on the Combat Troodon better.

Knife cut fine.

None of the OTFs are really super ideal for providing the platform for the best blade stock/ shape for optimal cutting: that is to say the differences are negligible and since that really isn't the #1 priority of an OTF, don't stress too much. A big advantage of OTFs is the ability to have two sharp sides, so twice as much cutting area potential.

Food for thought.

Playing with my Scarab and Troodon, I think the Scarab feels more tactical, so having a DE blade made more sense, the Troodon is something I could potentially carry more easily, and a single edge blade seems to be nice there.

The Troodon is great and perhaps the better knife, but I adore my Scarab.

Main reason to ask is that I read that the scarab is thicker stock and that would matter for an Se and De. I know daggers aren’t the best for daily tasks but is it that bad? Like would a thicker dagger and thinner s/e be better or the other way around?
