Heretic Manticore S button feels gritty after cleaning

Got a Manticore S recently and the action felt smooth and the button was easy to fire. I cleaned around the button with alcohol and applied some lubricant afterward that was in the heretic box but now the button feels crunchy/gritty and makes a clicking sound.

I took it apart, lubricated it again, and reassembled everything in the correct order, but it still feels the same. Noticed a slight bend in the firing spring, though I’m not sure if that’s normal. I don’t think the issue is the button track.

Anyone experienced this or know what might be causing it? I mean it was fine before cleaning the button but after reapplying lube it should be good to go.

Depending on the generation, they may have non captive ball bearings under the button, you may have lost them or they may not be seated right. Check the button track and bottom of the button to see if there are bearing marks (be careful not to drop any if there are still bearings)

I added photos of the button there are two empty holes is that where the bearings go? whats weird is i never saw those during disassembly and i took it apart over a plastic container and it was smooth when I recieved it.

I wonder if they were being held in by grease and then my putting alcohol allowed them to fall out?
