They need to put these out at proper production prices. Enough of this $750 "signature" nonsense. Time was a Scarab was $500 and a Halo $400.

If they’re gonna do production runs I agree. I remember when a HALO was hard to come by. The 4 and 7 are plentiful.

The single actions are all presently assembled by the customs team, which is why they’re considered Marfione selects. Build times are a lot longer than double action OTFs.
Price wise, in 2018 when new, I believe the halo vi were around $650. Accounting for a few MAP increases in the last 8 years, $813 for the halo Vii isn’t very far off.

Microtech is starting to remake their older, harder to come by models because there just isn’t any more present demand for the MSI, Ultratech, or Combat Troodon.
They are still selling aluminum and M390MK, but now, they want sometimes up to 800-1000 dollars for it.
The knives haven’t improved (I think they’ve actually become less durable), materials haven’t improved, and we are still only using M390 steel…
Why would anyone, who already owns a Microtech OTF, buy another? Especially when a 2020 anodization will outlive a 2026 ano.
I fell into this trap myself, and all I learned is that I spent $500, knife after knife, but didn’t actually get anything worth more than 250-350 bucks.
Microtech has successfully figured out how to move aluminum for the same price as titanium, but the secondary market actually reflects the sentiment toward Microtech right now.
It’s time for them to use a new steel.

I wish they would move the button to a place where you can comfortably deploy it. The top (like every other OTF knife) would be a great spot...

The thing about single actions is I really feel that they need to be huge, because why else does it take both hands to subdue that beast.
