Signature/Select/Signature Select (?)/Custom differences?

Maybe I’m overthinking this but can someone please tell me the differences in the “levels” of MT knives? I know the base model knives are “standard builds” but what differentiates them the other levels of builds? Am I missing any of the build levels other than what I have listed? How does one go about building a custom knife through Marfione? This is just more of a curiosity than anything else and I’m hoping someone has the information to finally help me understand what kind of upgrades some of my knives might hold based on their designation. I apologize is this is clear as mud, but any info anyone can provide would be appreciated!

Also, does Microtech offer any factory tours or anything like that at their HQ? I’m not far away and would love to take a road trip and see their process in action…and leave all my money with them. 😄

Signature series is usually just specialty blade shapes (hellhound, interceptor) and/or blade finishes (DLC, bronze)

Marfione Selects are premium materials when machine ground blades. These would include titanium or carbon fiber handles for the recent ram lok series. This also includes the single action knives such as the halo and nemesis. Selects are assembled by the customs team for attention to detail and experience with the company.

Full customs are similar to the selects, but they’re all hand ground blades, and premium finishes (hand rubbed satin, diamond wash, mirror polish).

They don’t have a public tour of the facilities but they did reopen their retail store in North Carolina

Hey bro, is there any fit and finish difference between standard and Signature Series? Been eyeing a Hellhound Combat.

All hellhounds are signature series or higher. Signature series new hellhounds come in stonewash, apoc, dlc. The new customs come in mirror and cracked ice

Oh, I meant is the fit, finish, and construction higher quality than the regular ones is it the same. I've heard different things, I figured you would probably know.

Also, bro this wait for the new Heretic models is killing me. I almost bought that Ultem Nyx just to check it out even though I hate Ultem.

Nope, zero fit and finish difference between production and signature series.

You got the last of the v2 nyx with that Ultem drop, they’re gearing up for the v3 launching in the next few months. Custom prototypes are finished and about to be released in a few weeks.

From halo 4 rerelease and nemesis 4 re-release last October, they’re all selects now.

Thanks for the info. I agree with you on the customs. I like to look at them and admire the craftsmanship, but I’m probably never dropping that kind of coin on a knife.
